Today I found this in an Italian supermarket: "Bud Spencer's Beans"

Bud Spencer and Terence Hill were actors in some "spaghetti western" movies. And always eating beans, hence these cans.

Many years ago I was in a bread and breakfast in London, back when there were only like 3 or 4 TV channels available. I was flipping around between them when I happened upon a thrilling game of snookers or whatever it was that was just ending (maybe around 11pm or so), I believe on BBC2. So they then run this bizarre little short with naked animated figures going after each other. They then cut to the traditional analog clock BBC logo, and the announcer says this (pretty much the exact words):

"So it's time for shutdown here on BBC2, and I hope you enjoyed that little piece. And all I can say after that is, have at it!"

Transmission ends, and I'm sitting there with my mouth hanging open staring at static.

@lauren I remember that in my home country, when I was a kid, they shut down transmission at a certain time. Either they go blank, or most of the time they broadcasted a monoscope.

I can clearly remember the opening theme when, in the morning, they started the transmissions again.

Finally the SPARCstation is done and working, It took me a while to find a compatible CD drive and a 50 pin SCSI HDD lol

Also I recapped the PSU last year (PSA recap your SPARCstation PSU because it fucks the traces and it's very annoying to fix)

Now I need a matching keyboard and mouse but that's not that important, I can wait another 10 years

    @josh it's also a shit show in EASA for trans people. The rules aren't clear and strongly depends on the AME. I had to dress as male to go to the renewal and pretend I am still $deadname (even if I have boobs).
    It's so sad ๐Ÿฅบ

    I found out that from Python 3.11, you are forced to use virtualenvs. These are ok, but what about all those Python programs installed as a package (or brew) that do not and require a Python package that is not packaged?

    Two years before I moved to the United States, I wrote something called โ€˜things I will miss when I have to leave Southeast Asia (because I am queer)โ€™. I predicted that I would be deeply homesick, not for Singapore specifically, but for the entire region.

    Even though I was born in Singapore, I lived many years in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

    What I could not predict: that even watching videos of people in YouTube documentaries about Southeast Asia, the birdsong is enough to make me bawl.

    I've been baking bread. I have to admit, I am not a bread obsessed person (I grew up eating rice and noodles and bread is my no 3 carb of choice). But in learning to make breads I personally like that's changed my views on bread.

    I do not like crusty, rustic, hard, dark, breads. I don't like them hard, or SF-style sourdough (super sour) either. I've decided that's okay. I'm exploring whole wheat breads in shapes and textures that I enjoy.
