If you are on Windows and you want to control 2 PC's with a single mouse and keyboard, then you should check out Mouse Without Borders. It's a great piece of software that allows you to do just that without the need of any extra hardware.

Last night I dreamed someone in the office was playing some awesome high speed super hectic breakcore on his laptop. Very Venetian Snares/Hitori Tori/Ruby My Dear style things, but something I never heard of. It's crazy your brain can just come up with completely awesome new music like that. Too bad you can't just record that somehow. 😁

@AnarchoCatgirlism Statistically speaking, this means you can lick most things. Good to know.

n3wjack,
@n3wjack@mastodon.social avatar

@uint8_t @AnarchoCatgirlism you can lick all things at least once 😂

n3wjack,

@uint8_t @AnarchoCatgirlism Theoretically I guess, if you can get your hands on it. 😁
Same with any gases. I mean, can you lick a gas?

I'd love to switch my domain provider to a European or even German one. Problem is, that they charge more for .com, .net, .org domains, than in the US. Can anyone recommend a provider in the EU, that doesn't?
Note, that i need to be able to set DNS entries myself later.

@jrp What kind of prices do you have in the US?
Just tried GoDaddy for a .net domain and it's about the same as my own Belgian provider charges.

People who primarily interact with Git using its command line like the past 50 years of evolution in personal computers never happened fascinate me.

I do use it, but only for specialized use cases Fork or an IDE can’t handle.

n3wjack,

@chucker Same. I mainly use the CLI for specific actions, and I have to look up how to do it every time.

Have you ever thought about blogging anonymously? I blog under my real name, but wonder if that could have held me back...

https://kevquirk.com/what-about-anonymous-blogging

n3wjack,
@n3wjack@mastodon.social avatar

@kev There are a few reasons why I post anonymously on my blog/site.
First, it was a habit of using a pseudonym when I was a teen and started using computers. I think it was influenced by the demo scene. When I registered my domain, I used the nickname I had been using for a while on the web.
Second, I don't like the idea that any wanker could just search my name, find my blog and then stalk your ass IRL because he doesn't like something you posted (something about Linux for example).

n3wjack,
@n3wjack@mastodon.social avatar

@kev Whois privacy is a must though imo, even if you are using your real name. You don't want them to just get your address that easily, right?
The same goes for future employers. When they search for my name, they will find a nice LinkedIn profile, but that's about it.
My domain registrar knows who I am, but that's OK. My life doesn't depend on it, and I kind of trust them. Besides, I have their address too. 😁

@JenMsft I have a Windows feature request. When you use multiple keyboard layouts to switch between azerty and qwerty (for games) it would be great if the login screen would indicate what keyboard layout is active.
I often mistype my password because it's still in qwerty and OF COURSE my password has an A in it. 😁
It usually takes me a few tries before I remember that's the problem. 🤦‍♀️

Charlie Kirk's claims that birth control "screws up female brains" and turns them into "angry, bitter young ladies" was not a one-off.

MAGA leaders, in a semi-coordinated fashion, are conditioning their followers to back birth control bans.

Say it with me folks, inheritance tax.

We are entering into "the great wealth transfer" where about $5.2 trillion (that's the one with more zeros than I can count) is about to pass from the, largely undeserving, super rich to their entirely undeserving heirs.

"Research by Forbes magazine found there were 15 billionaires aged 30 or under but that none had created their own wealth, instead benefitting from huge inheritances."

I often see Bandcamp release with just a single track in it. I tend to skip those, as I like to get albums, and a chunk of music at once, instead of having to download/organize a bunch of single releases.

How do you people feel about this?

#music #bandcamp

n3wjack,
@n3wjack@mastodon.social avatar

@radiojammor Yes, but then I expect a new BC release with the collection of all singles as an album.
I quickly listen to most things I think might be interesting, single or not. But they really have to be kick-ass before I buy a single track. 😁

n3wjack,
@n3wjack@mastodon.social avatar

@axwax Yes, EPs of about 4 tracks are a good middle ground. I don't mind getting those.
