Sure smartphones are great but so were the days when switchboards were overseen by giant tabbies. 1951. #CatsOfYore #Cat #Cats #History #catsodon #catsofmastodon #catcontent #ilovecats #vintage https://digitaltmuseum.se/021018293658/orsundet-telefonstation-1951-interior

NASA is about to launch a mission to the most metal asteroid we know. How metal? It may have once had volcanoes of molten iron.

THAT metal.

@badastro Ooooh.

"For me, Mastodon and the so-called 'Fediverse' are rewinding the clock on social media in the best way possible. Its usage is more intuitive on both the publishing and subscription side without a big-A Algorithm deciding what your see. If you found utility using early Twitter and early Facebook, then you’ll instantly find Mastodon a more pleasant and intuitive experience."

liminalfiction,

@seanbala @bookstadon I read that bud din't enjoy it as much as his others...

liminalfiction,

@seanbala @bookstadon I absolutely loved the Mars ones. The CA series was more spotty - it felt like great ideas, but, esp. the eco one, almost like a present day city council tale. Not spec ficy enough for me?

In 1905, Dutch entrepreneur Jonathan van Mastodon invented the first social network in his father's grandfather clock factory. Due to the sparse use of the Internet, the network had to be brought from user to user in a cumbersome manner, but this did not detract from the popularity of the system. Just a few years later, several institutions had set up instances of the network, laying the foundation for today's federation.

    3D-printed melted regolith may be the way to build on the Moon and Mars.
