📚 #Writers, #readers, #vocabulary nerds: opinions, please? Reading or using term "faux pas"--we all know basic definition: social blunder. But do you assume-and/or do you think others assume--the term implies that the blunder happened b/c someone knew better & "oops, forgot!" Or that the blunder happened b/c someone didn't know better in 1st place? No wrong answers here. I just have reasons for wondering how others view this. Any input appreciated! 😎
#FantasyIndies April 25. What is the most difficult thing your characters have gone through?
I genuinely can’t answer this without giving away too much. Haha! Previously, though, the toughest thing any of the characters had gone through was grief and the depression that comes with that. ~ Hayley-Jenifer, author of Kingdom of the Moon
Pretend? really?
Reminds me of a book I've read about bookstores' fun moments, and one was about a customer who wanted to buy books just to put at his house and makes him looks so smart. LOL
But, I've read #Tolkien, Jackson, #Atwood, #Orwell and more ! #Booksworm#books#Readers

I have to say that Scáth is my favourite child. He says things without thinking, he is always hungry, he doesn’t reeeeally like people, and he rarely finds himself interested in what’s going on around him unless it directly affects him. And yet, he’s got a soft spot for one character in particular. I wonder why… ~ Hayley-Jenifer, author of Kingdom of the Moon
#FantasyIndies April 18. What books do you like to reread?
I re-read Cecelia Ahern’s novels often because I love how she writes magical realism. She’s been my favourite since I first read ‘If You Could See Me Now’ when I was fourteen! I also re-read (and re-watch!) ‘The Princess Bride’ quite often because it never fails to make me laugh. ~ Hayley-Jenifer, author of Kingdom of the Moon
My MC’s favourite season is autumn (she’s very practical and castles are tough to heat and tough to cool in the winter/summer, and the birds always try to nest in the eaves in the spring!). Autumn is no trouble for the staff—haha! ~ Hayley-Jenifer, author of Kingdom of the Moon
We’ve got humans and Fae (so far!) in 'Kingdom of the Moon'. The Moon and the forest also feature, but that’s all I can say on that ;) ~ Hayley-Jenifer, author of Kingdom of the Moon
Just a brief little announcement that my first short story "Double Crochet" (https://knbrindle.com/short-stories/) will be published and available in June 🥳
My MC likes nature but only when she's walking through it with her best friend. When it's quiet and warm, she does like the gardens but she doesn't venture out into the forest. Well, except this one time but I can't tell you about that... ~ Hayley-Jenifer, author of Kingdom of the Moon
Check out this amazing sale of Indie scifi, fantasy, and horror books! Today through Monday only.
My future ice age book, The Calling, is included in this sale, but since it’s tricky to find amongst so many books, I’ll drop the links to both my book and the overall sale below. Happy shopping!💜
The first page of my "Fantasy/Attempted Comedy" story, The Last Philosopher.
I've been rewriting it again, but this first page still has some issues.
The question is would you keep reading? ☺️
Ohohohohoh I can't tell you what seasons without giving you a little spoiler: all the seasons are present in 'Kingdom', but our story is only set over a short few days... Hmm. Weird. Hehe. ~ Hayley-Jenifer, author of Kingdom of the Moon
My MC misses her parents, for sure. It's a big castle that can be very quiet when her twin isn't feeling very social. ~ Hayley-Jenifer, author of Kingdom of the Moon
