@kubikpixel @FreeTube @fdroidorg @IzzyOnDroid Hab schon einige Youtube frontends probiert und auf Android bleibt NewPipe der ungeschlagene König aber ich benutze inzwischen Freetube weil ich die daten (vor allem abos und playlists) von meinem Computer sehr leicht rüber ziehen kann. Ist halt leider Electron und an einigen stellen auch nicht ganz so genial smartphone optimiert wie Newpipe aber da kommt halt keiner ran, ein großer plus Punkt ist Sponsorblock und Dearrow!

@Volksverpetzer Hab schon Meldungen von Tausend toten Kindern bekommen, da hab ich mir gleich gedacht ich warte lieber etwas, vorallem weil die qyellen mir beide völlig unbekannt waren und ich denen im zweifelsfall keinen einzigen Click spendieren will!

What are good newspapers for english stuff? In German I have a rough idea what newspaper I am comfortable sharing acticles from and which are a absolute nogo but in english I basically have no clue what to even avoid at all cost and that really bothers me! I wouldn't want to E.g. share equivalents to the Krone, Welt, Bild, Heute or other right wing propaganda machines!

Is there any good Blog post to learn customization with relatively limited knowledge about ? I don't like the idea of a distro that I can't customize easily so normal doesn't sound like my favorite choice but uBlue, and similar approaches sound very tempting and I love the concept of distros in general! Also, do you think it's easy enough to learn to imediately switch my main computer over or should I do some more testing in VMs first?

@Volksverpetzer Nochmal danke für eure Analysen, mir kommt jedes mahl die Kotze hoch wenn ich wider was von einem angeblichen Genozit versuch und anderen dreck lesen muss aber tuhe mir gleichzeitig schwer wie ich klar machen soll das wir die Israelis und ihre Fascho Regierung ganz genau im auge behalten müssen, die bezeichnen Amnesty International und andere quellen die ich für vertrauenswürdig halte nicht um sonst als Antisemitisch und teilen die gleiche propaganda!

I just want to quickly say that I really appreciate @itsfoss for their actually helpful articles on technical stuff! Search engines continue to get worse and many areas are almost entirely occupied by affiliate fueled trash, endless posts that hide the actual topic behind pages of cheap and empty text and horrible cookie banners. The amount of actually useful sites is scarily low by now and I feel like we often appreciate them far too little! :)

I often feel like #Gnome could leverage right click in it's UI a lot more, all I can do if I right click on an app icon for example is open a new window, pin to dash and app details. App details is relatively useless because it's build into the Software Center and only recognizes apps installed from their, a "go to files" button is missing which would be very helpful, I can't hide a app from there using the GUI and for open Windows there is no right click to E.g. force quit or similar.

@nekohayo Extra options for apps where they make sense are great but my point was more about things like opening the apps folder, force closing apps and possibly also hiding icons for certain apps that only show up in the search and a quick way to the apps config. Two of those things could be done a lot better with an Android like approach to that "App Details" button which doesn't rely on the Software Center, that could support more apps and gives more options for those apps.

@nekohayo I try to use rpms and Flatpaks as much as possibke but I still need AppImages and self compiled apps and recently started to play with Nix and Distrobox too. It's just kind of laim that I can't interact with those unless I manually look for the folder and even with Flatpaks I would love to have a "go to files" button because it's just tedious to open those folders manually!

@nekohayo The force quite part might just be me but I get annoyed when I already know the app won't respond and still have to wait till that dialog comes up, especially if I open a long loading app by accident but you might be right about the right click thing. About the hiding, I would like certain apps (E.g. all of those wine assistant apps) to show up in the search as normal app but not have them in my app list, that would just be a convenience feature to me.

@amadeus I am fine writing Markdown in any text fiel I find but for longer stuff I really enjoy the the Paper note taking app, it's techincally not really a Markdown editor but a note taking app that uses Markdown I guess. Before that I used GEdit but I really enjoy having my notes nicely sorted right in the side bar of the same app!
