The 4th Annual Fedivision Song Contest has concluded. What an incredible event, and indeed, an amazing achievement by the organisers of the event. 🎉

I want to thank my Wife, and Mom & Dad, and…

When I pick up a wild ant such as this Camponotus pennsylvanicus minor worker I’m always anxious that I return her to her colony. I followed her after letting her go. She ran the full length of a football field then suddenly up a pole. Waiting there another ant of the same species. They fussed over each other. Grooming and feeding each other for several minutes. Then they tucked into a nook in the fence and went to sleep! I guess they won’t be taking me to their main nest today.

I don't think we'll see much or any of it here either. It's just now getting dark enough anyway. Seeing this one through others' eyes was kind of wonderful, though not the same as in person of course.
This is about an hour away from my farm, so this'll be a fun conversation, and yet another great opportunity to tell a lot of people about what a huge problem we have with unregulated commercialization of orbit. (Also I just redid my slides for my public talk next week, this is going in!)
@sundogplanets I don't understand why the under-regulation of damaging space junk is funny. Absurd, ok. But these are dangerous and ppl profit from that, wtf.
@sundogplanets It is pretty strange all around. I think I misunderstood – if it helps to laugh at the absurdity, I get that. I deeply appreciate your focus on space junk and orbits and your willingness to address it.
So, this was released today. My third stamp with Canada Post. Qarlinngua (The pants). And technically my second stamp with a family member in it, as the tiny figure in it is my son Travis. Now for one with Hilary in it.
I’ve very proud of all of these, beyond the cache. They are about my home, and family. And also my family has a long history with the Post Office, 101 years. My grandfather, father, and brother were all postmasters in Roblin. #Nunavut#Arctic#Stamps#philately#CanadaPost
Today was a hard day (just way too many things going on). But I have baby goats, and there were finally enough nettles poking up through the soil and dead grass from last year to be worth a decent harvest! As I was picking them, the willow trees above me were absolutely humming with bees. I'm grateful.

@RickiTarr@samhainnight@dan613 Preferably with much butter! Looove me some Julia Child but she was def in the pocket of Big Butter, lol. (Not literally – she actually refused endorsement deals.) Her fans left sticks of butter in tribute to her outside significant locations when she died.
