EVERY single USB-C cable should have the USB type and bandwidth printed on the cable.

I'd also vote for some sort of "raised dot" standard for visually impaired folks.

Is 8GB enough for basic Mac usage?

I would love to see a test configuration that proves 8GB is not enough. Some setup that brings a specific 8GB Mac to its knees (using built-in apps).

Like, open a browser, open 40 tabs, open 20 Pages documents, etc.

I hear a lot of complaining about an 8GB base config, but I am still unsure.

Currently, there are 22,000 electric vehicle charging stations in the United States and Canada,

Compare that to approximately 160,000 gasoline stations in the U.S. alone.

Clearly those numbers will shift dramatically over the coming years. How many years until it’s 50/50?

Will we live with hybrid stations (both gas/charging) for many years? Will gas stations flip to EV?

When I launch System Settings on my Mac, it always opens to the "Appearance" pane.

This seems random. Why Appearance?

Why not:

• The first pane in the list?
• The pane I last opened?
• The General pane (which is my most visited pane, since it contains Software Update).

If a house was for sale and two equal (say, within 5%) offers came in, what if the seller was required to accept the bid from someone who would live in the house, rather than rent it to someone?

My hope is that Apple rolls out a logical reason for this timing. I can think of none.

On the iOS 17 NameDrop "scare headlines"...

The more I dig in, the more I think there's something to this:

• It's on by default. Apple should turn it off by default

• Declining a request is confusing. There's no obvious "cancel" button

NameDrop is a nice feature, just needs a bit of tweaking.

Had my Vision Pro demo last night.

SO many thoughts. Will definitely get into it on this week's show ("The Dalrymple Report" podcast records on Thursdays, drops on Friday mornings).

But in a nutshell, this was breathtaking, game changing.

My gut, right now, is that all diehard Apple fans will all own a Vision Pro eventually.

Maybe not this generation, but Series 2? Series 3? Like Apple Watch, the more refinement cycles Apple gets, the deeper into the market sales will go.
