It’s a stupid joke, and holds zero real importance. I didn’t write it. I found it on the internet somewhere. I have no idea who the original author is. It’s copypasta like almost all the jokes and memes I toot. But when I arrived on Mastodon over a year ago, silly jokes seemed to be rare, so that’s what I’ve endeavoured to provide. Silly jokes and dumb memes. Good ones though. Usually tasteful. Always with AltText. And with the aim of lightening the mood and lifting the spirits of this incredible community. Usually. Mostly.

I still sometimes get a little uncomfortable that they out-trend all that serious important stuff though.

@BinGanzBrav Da wäre mein ideales Kostüm ein Pestdoktor. Da kann einfach eine entsprechende (heutzutage tatsächlich schützende) Filterschicht eingearbeitet werden. Und im Arztbeutel statt Bonbons und Konfetti jede Menge Desinfektionsmittel, Wattestäbchen/Schnelltests und Anstecknadeln mit dem Abbild von COVID-19 zum Kenntlichmachen von positiven Personen. ☣️👀

@Aakerbeere Ich hab die Doku zwar nicht gesehen, aber mir war das schon suspekt, als ich das erste Mal davon gelesen hab. #Meta und #Fediverse passen nicht zusammen, da stimmt die Chemie einfach nicht.

I'm a Disabled person that wishes more people would use the #Alt4Me hashtag. If you can't write/dictate/put a media description, I'd love it if someone else did it. That hashtag is not just for Blind or low vision people. It's there if you can't provide an media description yourself! There are groups that do the same thing. Anyone should be able to use the tag to request a description without getting harassed for it. If you do provide audio transcripts for an uploaded audio or an image description, tag with #Alt4You so others can find it!

A few hours ago I realised that my childhood #cat had to go over the rainbow bridge exactly 30 years ago this month.

Although I had moved out from home in February that year, I had a feeling one day, as if she was in my apartment for a short moment, just to say good-bye. I even had a glimpse of her from the corner of my eyes. What an eerie feeling!

And now I am sitting here, sad and angry about the fact, that I don't have another furry friend with me.

I still miss her. R.I.P. Kitty :sadness:

Compared to this, we seem to be in luckier circumstances than we thought.

In Germany, the movement #verkehrswende is trying to get more + safer lanes and better ruling for the bike riding people in cities and rural communities, and is railing and scolding the car lobby that has so much impact on the government.

But in comparison to the States, in most of all German places (cities, towns, no matter how big or small) there are✅ sidewalks.

Zentrales Problem bei #Bluesky: Das ist kein Social Network, sondern ein Investment. Das nicht durch Innovation glänzt, sondern durch die Selbstzerstörung des Marktführers. Wenn Bluesky wertmäßig gereift ist, wird es verkauft. An so gelangweilte Leute wie Elon Musk. Und dann fängt das Theater von vorne an.

Wer erwachsen ist, nutzt #Mastodon. Und je mehr Leute Mastodon nutzen, desto eher werden andere Netzwerke Verbindungen zu Mastodon schaffen, weil sie gar nicht herum kommen.

Es ist schade, dass viele meinen, mit Mastodon nicht klar zu kommen (bedienungsmäßig).

Ich habe auch eine Weile gebraucht, aber ich hab mich durchgekämpft und poste nun jedem Neuling, der mir über den Bildschirm läuft, alle Hashtags, die ich inzwischen gefunden und als nützlich befunden habe.

That's why I have cancelled my cable TV. I hardly watch TV anymore, only via "Mediathek" - without advertisements. And then I have build up a rather large collection of VHS, DVD and Blu-ray media over the years. 📼 💿 📀 📹 😊

A couple weeks ago while I was trying to find an object and I removed everything from the storage bin in the closet looking for it ( https://mastodon.social/@mcc/110551350768091030 ) I at least found my missing Switch charger, which was nice. I took the missing Switch charger out from the illogical place it was in before and put it in some other, logical place.

But now I can't remember what the more logical place was, and it isn't in any of the logical places I'm checking

Here's an example of how sexism, without any conscious bad intentions, leads to physical danger and harm:

I work as volunteer bike mechanic for a community project that offer free cargo bikes all over Berlin. Those bikes need maintenance because they get used (and sometimes abused) a lot. We do that in small teams cycling to a couple of bikes and fixing whatever needs fixing. Usually it's a tour taking us to 4 bikes over a couple of hours.

Then we split the work among ourselves, one checks the chain while another adjusts the brakes or sth. An important thing there is to nit get in each other's way, because that's potentially dangerous. There's moving parts, sharp tools, etc, and a hand can get caught in a wheel or brake disc very easily. So if one person works on one part of a bike and hasn't asked for help, others should move on to different parts that are safely away from there. And when someone does need a helping hand, they should be the one coordinating to avoid accidents. 1/3
