I'm not sure why anyone thinks Meta/Threads sees the fediverse as enough of a threat that they would bother trying to destroy it.

Meta might be evil but they're not stupid. They don't need the people from this place. Hell, they're smart enough to know that 99% of the people from here wouldn't join Threads anyway, even if it was the last social network on the Internet. I'm sure they know that half the normies that come here can't figure it out and they leave, and probably go to Threads.

They have something like 10 million daily active users. They don't need us for anything other than a regulatory checkbox.
