Morning Folks! Yesterday I transitioned over into World Tier III in Season 4, and am starting to feel confident at an attempt to complete the World Tier IV dungeon.

Also noticed that Blizzard has both a free trial available on Battle.net and has the game on sale for $35. It is also part of Gamepass now for those folks. They seem to really want folks back.

Good Morning Folks!

A few leagues back I attempted to create a Shield Crush build on the Chieftain that converted everything to fire damage. Then last league with the advent of transfigured gems... they gave us Shield Crush of the Chieftain that is doing specifically that thing.

This weekend I started leveling yet another Marauder to see if this version works any better than my previous attempt did.

Morning Folks! I realized this morning that I had not really talked about my "map blaster" of choice for the #PathOfExile Necropolis League. I've made versions of this character several times now but this time around I am utilizing the brand new Elemental Hit of the Spectrum gem with the tanky goodness of a Champion.

I was not entirely certain I would actually get around to blogging today. Eventually, I discovered the oomph to make something happen. Between yesterday morning and this blog post, I have knocked out three more challenges in Necropolis League and am nearing a few more.

I talk a bit more about the ones that I feel are realistic for me to complete this league.

@scopique @massivelyop time gating, cash shop bullshit, a UI that is constantly screaming for my attention in 300 different notifications all firing at the same time... daily login nonsense.. no ability to just "play the game" without wading through all of this.

They are all universally awful. Sometimes I am bored enough to try them but rarely if ever last longer than a few weeks before realizing I am playing a button clicking chore simulator.

Indie doesn't scale. You can't katamari up a bunch of tiny studios and then say "alright break into 100 teams and each make small games!", it breaks down. But that's essentially what they did #GameDev

@glassbottommeg I would say... that they are trying to apply business logic to creative spaces... but this shit doesn't work out any better in non-creative spaces.

There is this great lie that when you start to refer to people as "resources" you begin to view them as interchangeable widgets in some imagined money-printing machine.

Those who have not already placed one foot out the door, will absolutely do so now leaving only a hollow shell that has a name attached to it that is meaningless

Death Jack Elegant Ringmail: a 6-linked chest with a massive fractured life roll, two elemental resists, and extra armor+energy shield. It even has a free suffix!

@bass I'm not doing SSF this go-round, but if I was I would have still had options this league. I also got a connection omen and have gotten a few of the scarabs that make Black Morrigan show up on your map if you have Einhar. It feels like both are way more accessible than they ever were before.
