So I resubbed to WoW because it's splashed all over the GFN homepage, but I'm installing it locally anyway because I got up to handle something and when I came back I was logged out of my GFN session. That plus having to always look up my password every time I wanted to play was really not any more convenient than just having it installed on my machine.

@scopique Right now it is mostly a super chill super accelerated way of leveling a character all the way to 70 through just Pandaria content.

After the event, the character becomes a normal WoW Character so feels sorta like an ARPG season.

@scopique what is really cool is there is a vendor in the bank area that sells 36 slot bags for 10 bronze aka the currency of the event, so you can also exit with a bank full of those ready to go.

Afternoon Folks. I have no clue why I have been struggling to get a blog post out in the mornings lately.

Anyway... last night I managed to snag a Siege of Orgrimmar and Throne of Thunder group and am the proud owner of a shiny necklace slot. I also talk a bit about how grouping has gone in general and how I would love for this recent foray into building groups to extend into other games.

@stux having gone through this yeah... you are usually on your own to remove them. Try some baby oil if you have it, it helped loosen the pads and remove them without taking much of my skin with it.

Morning Folks! Last night I waded into the scary world of the Group Finder tool in #WorldOfWarcraft #PandariaRemix and found it to be a mixed bag. The first three normal raids were super smooth and I knocked them out in rapid succession. Then I spent the next hour failing to get into either a Throne of Thunder or Siege of Orgrimmar raid.

Morning Folks! Yesterday I tried the whole "get to 25 and then just do raids" thing for alt leveling in #WorldOfWarcraft #PandariaRemix and it is very much "not my jam". My appetite for chain-running raids does not appear to be what it used to be. This also feels like a strategy for maximizing bronze gain and not necessarily levels.

I recently got an ultrawide monitor and that's cool, but my screenshot app doesn't work UW monitors, so that's not so cool. I am relying on Windows Snipping tool for screenshots, but that's...sad.

@scopique have you given ShareX a shot? I do not have a widescreen monitor so I have no clue how well it would work but i know it can capture both of my monitors at the same time if I want to do that blasphemous thing.

Morning Folks! Last night I hit level 45 in and started on my third zone. I spent some time this morning talking about the scope of Pandaria and how it is contrasted against the feel of the last few expansions.

I also spent some time talking about the Narcissus addon which is making the whole constant gem swapping a bit easier.

Honestly, it feels like a refreshing take on the game with the best mechanical state of classes combined with a more classical feeling expansion.

I hate to say it, but Secrets of the Obscure is probably my least favorite GW2 expansion. The "you need to use the griffon everywhere" schtick is infuriating me right now.

@scopique I assume this is because you have the Griffon and not the Skyscale?

I absolutely get it though because moving between areas is painful even with Skyscale which is likely what the content was designed around instead of the Griffon.

@scopique My biggest problem is the doodad you get to find where rifts are spawning... just feels bad and awkward to use. Rifts should be marked on the map at ALL TIMES and you should be able to see them anywhere in the zone.

@cliffwade The furthest I had made it in a past season was during the second one where I got to 90. Post 90 it just got to be too grindy.

I figure a dozen or so nightmare dungeons and I should be able to ding 100 which seems doable.
