The tl;dr is that Google seems to overweight reviews from longstanding big journalism brands ...

... but many of those brands, like Popular Science, were long ago bought up by private equity or conglomerates, then hollowed out ...

... so they now produce crappy articles that are probably lying about their "test labs" to please Google

Tell me a silly/funny childhood story!

I'll start:

One time in Sunday School, the teacher was talking about the difference between humans and animals, and mentioned that Animals had Tails and humans didn't. I let her know this was not true, because my Dad had a tail, just in the front, instead of the back. The teacher was silent for several seconds, and tried to correct me in a church appropriate way, but I doubled down, and insisted that my little brothers also had front tails too. This got so heated that the teacher had to go get my parents to take me out of Sunday School.

@RickiTarr my brother and I got kicked out on day 1 for much less. We learned to read earlier than some kids (thank you comic books) and we asked the teacher what type of animal Jesus rode into Jerusalem. The teacher said "donkey" and we were very insistent that it was an "ass" and all the other kids started laughing and saying "ASS!"... Church was not for us anyway and we stopped going when the minister said it was ok to pray for someone's death if they weren't a member of the same church.

Carheads are fascinating. They love their cars so much that they feel personally attacked due to laws put in place to make cities more livable.
Just shouting about how "the government" is making rules about "things they don't understand" all the time and repeating the same strawman argument about how EVs can't reduce CO2 because tyres and brake pads are also a major source of pollution and so they are pointless.
But what would I, a filthy pedestrian, know about any of this?

Did a quick reinstall the other day and was just smashing away on the enter button and accidentally selected #GNOME

At the confirmation screen of the installer, I could have hit back and changed it to "nothing" but I decided that after 8 or 9 years it wouldn't hurt to try it again. After all, I'm just a normal desktop user who doesn't need a specific workflow.

It has been a week, and the word I would use to describe it is "comfortable". The HIG makes it feel so...human?

This week #BeReal spilled over into my classes. The number of student users has grown to such a point that it is disturbing classes across the campus.
I am upset by the fact that I have been photographed while at work. The coincidence that it happened during a lesson on BJ Fogg is salt in the wound.
And, just in time, BeReal, which received funding from a16z and the likes, is surprising nobody by announcing the arrival of brands and celebs.
"Real" indeed.

Web developer people. I am lacking the vocabulary to complain about something to the IT folks at my work.

We are using a very sloppy online exam software with MANY bugs. One of which is this, and I'm looking to explain it using the right terminology:

When editing a field, the field randomly becomes "unfocused" causing the key presses to register as browser shortcuts. Is there a better way to describe this?
