Is there a website that keeps track what instances are protecting their users from #Threads and which doesn't? Not everyone joined #FediPact, yet many still blocked them. It would be nice to know how much of the Fediverse is save from Meta.

Also, dear #mastoadmin's, make sure to enable Authorized Fetch if your hardware is capable of doing so! That way your users' toots are actually (somewhat) protected against Threads' federation attempts.

Facing malicious actors (basically any big tech company) piracy, hacking/cracking and involuntary open-sourcing are acts of digital self-defense.
If you don't want people to act against you, don't act against them. A system that perpetuates malicious, exploitative behavior doesn't deserve your loyalty or trust. It is as simple as that.

An #ActivityPub protocol extension where you can host your own identity server or use a public one and login to any ActivityPub service through that (thereby using any interface with the same Fedi account) would be kinda nice I guess.

Being thrown back onto a different platform (and the corresponding interface) just to comment is really bad in terms of UX. 😕 It kinda works for (Micro)blogs, Image Blogs and Video platforms. Forums probably too... but Link Aggregators like Kbin or Lemmy? Meh.

Wouldn't be @librecast and @peertube a match made in heaven? 🤔

As far as I know #Peertube's video sharing still exposes a viewers IP to other viewers. A #multicast system seems like the perfect solution to this lingering problem while also potentially reducing server load.

Hopefully @Framasoft got this excellent possibility on their radar. #Librecast

I'm looking for a good, visual (!) #tutorial for #WebDevelopment that focuses on Codium, Firefox and other Open-Source tools. My specific interests are to learn #HTML, #CSS, #PHP and #SQL. Perhaps some minor #Javascript, however I'd like to primarily work without it.

I'm a visual learner, extended theory in text won't help me at all. As language is visual to me, so is #programming.

Anyone knows something that checks these boxes?
