Great, @europarl_en and @EU_Commission just struck a deal for eIDAS 2 which STILL includes HTTPS backdoors by state root certificates. Parliament votes soon. :bread_displeased:

There is good news though: Right now browsers ARE allowed to separate the newer QWAC system (backdoored) from the oldschool & rather trustworthy ACME SSL/TLS. Meaning folks like Mozilla as well as any third-party browser are able to fight back and protect their users!

More important than ever to choose a safe browser!

A few days ago, @Gargron, maintainer of #Mastodon and the big instance mastodon.social, wrote a blogpost explaining how the official app will soon feature his instance as a default.

Voices of the community weren't heard. He even doubled-down on it.

We have to prevent this change.

Sooo... for some reason my 3D printer decided to screw up the Y axis right after ironing the lower end.

Some ideas why this happened? I can only assume it got somehow stuck during the ironing process, throwing off the printer on one axis... :( #3dprinting

Previerw of the printing job inside the slicer software Cura. Everything looks fine here, indicating it wasn't a problem with the file containing the printer commands.

First #RaspberryPi earned a shitstorm by hiring an ex-cop specialized in hidden surveillance.

Now they accept an investment by Sony for their propr. AI engine to be included in the next Pi. Which "only sends metadata to the cloud".

What's the most desirable #3dprinting print bed material? I currently have this structured glass and a lot of problems with adhesion ("Ultra Silk" PLA from Tinmorry) despite hours of work that seemingly ain't normal.

I have to replace mine anyway (300x300mm) since it's warped.

Is there a website that keeps track what instances are protecting their users from #Threads and which doesn't? Not everyone joined #FediPact, yet many still blocked them. It would be nice to know how much of the Fediverse is save from Meta.

Also, dear #mastoadmin's, make sure to enable Authorized Fetch if your hardware is capable of doing so! That way your users' toots are actually (somewhat) protected against Threads' federation attempts.

I probably get flooded by asking this but welp, here I go:

I'm looking for a good, visual (!) #tutorial for #WebDevelopment that focuses on Codium, Firefox and other Open-Source tools. My specific interests are to learn #HTML, #CSS, #PHP and #SQL. Perhaps some minor #Javascript, however I'd like to primarily work without it.

I'm a visual learner, extended theory in text won't help me at all. As language is visual to me, so is #programming.

Anyone knows something that checks these boxes?

So I see some people like @telemetrydeck. However there's one big question:

Can the client software (that submits the data) easily outfitted with some kind of portal that enables the user to check what is being transfered? And I mean everything.

Promises that "privacy is being cared about" were made utterly unbelievable by surveillance capitalists, so this stuff needs to be as transparent as possible. Therefore, to quote Linus Torvalds here:
