I got my first spool prusament PLA and recognized some interesting behavior. After each print, I have to pull out the filament and snip off 7-8 mm of material cause it inflates during the cool down of the printer inside the extruder.
I know that silk PLA inflates but only outside the nozzle.I thought about heatkreep but this would also happen during the print which does not happen in my case🤔
This only happens with prusament, all others don't🤷
If you scroll Mastodon often enough, you'll find plenty of detailed examples of "the banality of evil."
But I think this may have topped them all.
Someone created a #3DPrinting of #LEGO bricks made with tiny spikes, so they're extra painful to step on.
Today’s quick 3d print of a “pill placer" for our old dog. Big enough for the capsules he has to take 3x a day and hopefully more accurate and less intrusive than my fingers, with less chance of a munched finger.
I found a 3d printable version, but after a quick reality check it became obvious they made it for a totally different sized pill. Also needs to be at least 2x that long for our dog if we are going to stand any chance. I’m whipping something up in Fusion 360. Lots of chamfers on the edges and sturdy enough to survive the molars of doom.
The pill is a soft capsule that falls apart after the 3rd failed try of getting it to the back of his throat just using fingers, which barely reach.
Manyfold v0.67.0 is out, and introduces optional anonymous usage tracking so that we know many instances there are. This will be really useful to us, so please turn it on if you can! We're excited to see how many of you are out there! ❤️
We've made the system as private and transparent as we possibly can, including a custom super-forgetful data API. There's a breakdown of how it all works at https://manyfold.app/sysadmin/tracking.html.
This 3D print made a fine addition to my collection. BigBricks (from @Thangs3D) released a General Grievous Star Wars "LEGO" figure. Took a bit of effort, but the payoff was worth it. https://than.gs/m/1059394?image=1230070
The next release of Manyfold will include OPTIONAL anonymous usage tracking, purely so that we can count how many people are running it.
This is OFF BY DEFAULT, and all the information that's sent and stored is shown in the UI before you turn it on. We've tried to be as minimal, clear and up-front as possible.
#Plasbeams photo box update: yeah, this didn't work quite as hoped. At over 2.5kg, this thing has a will of its own, and enough weight to pull the bearing hinge assemblies apart and turn the whole thing into an uncooperative plastic octopus.
I think with anchors that slide over the hinges at full extension, and a careful order of operations, this can still be assembled; more likely I will need to swap the hinges for static brackets, and find another method for breakdown and storage. #3DPrinting
I finally got around to 3D modeling and #3DPrinting a jig for soldering a Adafruit QT Py SAMD21 onto the back of a 1" Fibonacci128. I should have done this ages ago, makes it so much easier!
Hunter found what he was looking for! This Star Wars action figure from The Bad Batch wound up finding The Stones to pass along to the Mondoshawan. Model designed by @Playactiontoys, printed live on https://twitch.tv/MakerDeck (of course)!
