I'm astounded at how common Long COVID is, how little we talk about it, and how many ignore what it means. Discussions I've had in the past two weeks because I probed topics:

  • Guy tells me his wife has Long COVID for a year. A week later, he posts photos from a crowded, indoor concert.

  • Friend tells me he's had mild Long COVID for 2 years. Also says he's "moved on" and doesn't consider COVID risks any longer.

This is not going to end well. Here's what I foresee in the future: (1/3)

Starving a trapped population of civilians by restricting humanitarian aid or any other food is nothing short of a genocide as far as I am concerned. That isn't targeted at Hamas. It's targeting everyone in Gaza be they hostages, civilians or Hamas. Most of them will be civilians.

At the same time many aid workers, for example, have died in attacks like the World Central Kitchen aid workers died that don't become an incident because they were Palestinian. Targeted attacks not collateral damage. & the bans & restrictions on humanitarian aid are literally targeting every single person in Gaza- hostages, civilians, medics, aid workers etc as well as legitimate targets. That sort of thing is why genocide has been considered potentially 1/2

It insane to me how often women are not given pain management for gynecological procedures, because many many years ago a male doctor who's never had a vagina, cervix, or uterus decided that there weren't enough nerve endings up there to hurt significantly. I think it's time to put this fallacy to bed. It most definitely does hurt, and people who have literally no experience with female equipment don't get to decide this for me. Trust me docs, you don't want to taste your own medicine on this.

I had to have an epidural to have my IUD inserted (one of those progesterone releasing ones inserted to try to sort out my extremely heavy periods) & I'll need another one to take it out now I need to prevent my Breast Cancer coming back. I can't have smear tests without one either.

three churches
206 archeological and heritage
