In 2023, a decaying supertanker threatened to break down off the Yemeni Red Sea coast, giving rise to an oil spill four times the size of Exxon Valdez. This video is worth watching for two reasons. One, it lists the cascading impacts of oil spills (after 1 minute); two, my wonderful colleagues at #UNDP actually averted the catastrophe.
