This is Bøsdalafossur waterfall, the outlet from Sørvágsvatn lake in the Faroe Islands.
The lake sits 40m above sea level, surrounded by cliffs that hem it in, and looks for all the world like it's warped spacetime to inhabit this position.
Happy #WaterfallWednesday! This was taken last year in the spring time at Ozone Falls in Ricketts Glen State Park in Pennsylvania. It's my favorite place to visit for waterfalls! (if I can't be in Iceland).
Scout Falls Lower, one of the many waterfalls in the Hamilton and St. Catherines, Ontario area, trickles down into a small pool amongst the autumn leaves.
The challenge theme on Night Café was Windmills. When I created this one, I included a couple different styles in the prompts, such as matte painting, watercolor and steampunk.
The wind was brisk at the brink of the Upper Falls at Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We visited a few days before Christmas several years ago and found that the falls hadn't frozen over. The Upper Falls are approximately 200 feet across and a 50 foot drop to the Tahquamenon River.
(10/10) I just realized I forgot to include the last photo in my top 10 favourites of 2023 series of posts! So last but not least is this small waterfall flowing through moss covered rocks in Whatcom Falls Park in Bellingham, Washington State.
This close-up gives you front-row seats to Tahquamenon Falls' energy. Watch the golden waters tumble—pure and vibrant, they'll bring any room to life. Hang it, and let the falls' distant roar add a wild heartbeat to your space.
