So tomorrow (as of when I'm posting this) there's going to be a tabletop gaming and fantasy focused holiday market over at Funagain Games. Figured I'd bring it up here since I only found out about it when I saw a poster around town.
EDIT: It's from noon to 6 PM
EDIT 2: It already happened, so don't get your hopes up
The table experience of a group is impacted by (among other things) how well their own assumptions, examined or not, mesh with the game's. All #TTRPGs have underlying premises upon which the game's mechanics rest. Many RPGs do not explicitly explore those premises. This examination has value.
Another game I've been looking forward to for a while just arrived! The Zone by @raphdamico! Gorgeous presentation and a phenomenally written step-by-step guide to play. Can't wait to put together a game.
The saga of my family member who went all in on #TTRPGs continues. They convinced another friend to try playing, and that person bought A HUNDRED D6s to make sure they'd have enough.
Anyway, now looking for d6 games. Cozy is nice. Solo or GM-less would also be nice. Crunchy math is not a problem. If it for some reason uses A HUNDRED DICE, that would be awesome.
"The gods aren't much different than you, or I. They can do mighty and magnificent acts with less effort, sure. But they still fall prey to the whims of personality and conflicts." ~ Pintac
"A mindless abomination won't think about its actions. Nor will it worry about the consequences thereof.
You pay a different heed to such things.
A fool may find glory in the slaying of such monsters. They may even build up renown from dispatching them.
Pintac and I never understood those lot. But in kind, I doubt they would understand if either of us tried to explain the difference between the euphoria of hunting your food versus the thrill of besting someone when sparring.
There's no glory to be had in killing something that has become an active danger to your community.
There's no glory even in killing those that upended nature and created the abomination. A sense of justice fulfilled maybe, but no glory to revel in.
Give a wide berth to those that boast of killing, be it beast, or foes upon a battlefield.
Not all monsters understand that they are monsters."
For my first #Coyote&Crow game there were a few ruling mistakes made. I'm running C&C with a new crew tonight and I def feel that we'll be moving faster than before. I can't wait to see what everyone does with the system!
What #TTRPGs are you playing?
Unpaid help, alas. You'll get an in-file credit for the feedback. Publication itself will be free.
It might be helpful if you know what a peer review is, :) but you don't need to be a credentialed academic – it will just be fun if you can pose as one!
The game was tested. It's before formatting (6 A4s, ~2k words). Takes ~15 min. to play but feedback from reading is enough for the authors.
I am the eyes of the forest watching you,
I am the hunting hunger which you flee,
I am the claws that strike as you run,
I am the fangs that tear your throat,
I am the Ta’regi.
My brain has looked at that #Dwarves are type caste with Scottish+ Irish accents, and decided that #Duergar speak with #Australian accents because... they're from 'down under'
Your table-top adventure awaits! These 4 mythical texts recently arrived in the shop. We've added them to our selection of other tomes, lore, & ancient texts. Stop in to explore & see what other treasures you can find!
1983: Enterprise – Role Play Game in Star Trek—A retrospective review of the first Japanese roleplaying game, based on Star Trek, published by Tsukuda Hobby in 1983.
What are your #WeekendGaming plans? What #TTRPGs are you playing or plotting for? What board or card games are you breaking out? What armies are you bringing to the mat?
Tell me…
Have you ever wondered what goes on while you sleep? I doubt someone like you with leather furniture and this office perfumed by rancid smelling cigars would deign to think of such things.
