Yes, #eBike demos will get people out of cars. But when you're the authority having jurisdiction over the streets, you could nudge a little harder. Maybe try not squandering the entire #transportation budget and wasting everyone's time with your obsession over shuffling more cars to the next red light. 🤷

@CrackedWindscreen I would always bet again McKinsey (given my direct experience with them with US industrial policy in Chicago).
I really do wish there would be an #ElectricBike hype cycle in the US, though.
If there was... it was either brief or I missed it.

PM2.5 (particulate matter, 2.5 micrometers) was 151 at 06:00 when this photo was made. These particles are from #Quebec, #Canada#WildFires. In Quebec the rate of wildfires so far this year is 600x more than average. 160,000 hectares have burned. #Pennsylvania and #NewJersey are at very high fire risk. Risk is added by chances for #DryThunderstorms. They are a feature of #desert climate.
I try to avoid German news for my sanity. but I just learned that the 49 EUR ticket that took more than a year to introduce and just started could soon rise in price again. Germany is a clown country.
Hopefully not.
That would be extremely unfair.
Instead, subsidies for public transport should rise and all taxes on #FfossilFuels should be earmarked for #transportation infrastructure investments, #renewable-energy infrastructure getting twice as much from the taxes.
