I shared a while back about a non-alcoholic tequila we tried and liked. This time around, we tried another brand, Almave, owned by Lewis Hamilton of #F1 fame. I think we all have a new favorite now. We made margaritas on Sunday and now every night since because they’re so good 😂
So around the beginning of the year I made a decision to go #sober, and this week I crossed the 90 day mark. One of the biggest motivators has been learning the physiological benefits as they happen, and as it turns out 90 days is a significant one - where the mental clarity from regeneration of damaged brain matter starts to take off.
It's been a challenge on many fronts, but it's exciting to have reached this point, having tried many times before.

25 months #sober. I stopped counting days and now count the months. This past month has been the most challenging in the entire run of them all. Hanging in there though.

So, for anyone interested, here are the best tips I’ve heard for laying of the booze (take this with a grain of salt as I’m hardly a paradigm of sober living!)
(1) Don’t just give up booze, replace it with something.
Start exercising, play video games, install a sex dungeon, build legos. Abstaining drains your limited supply of willpower, but doing something fun and fulfilling does not.
I used to be a huge #CraftBeer guy. Homebrewing, brewery tours, the whole deal. I can tell you my least favorite yeast. Eventually, that relationship turned sour (pun intended) and I’ve been #sober for a few years now. I still love the taste of hops though so I’ll get hop seltzer, hop tea, etc. and other fancy fake alcohol every chance I get.
