"1. Here's a link to the #Michigan#Supreme#Court order denying the appeal that would have addressed Donald Trump's qualification to be on the primary #ballot. Reading the dissent I'm stuck with a thought that the order may be subject to a collateral attack in the #USDC.
If I understand the ruling Michigan has delegated the authority to put people on the ballot to political parties. There' no statutory requirement that candidates meet lawful qualifications and might authorize a non-citizen to run for #president.
By ignoring the US #Constitution the Michigan legislature and now the Supreme Court have acted outside of their Constitutional #jurisdiction. The "parade of horribles" that this ruling would appear to authorize would arguably include Vladimir Putin being on the ballot, though I note that with Trump on it, Putin is as well."
#SCOTUS won’t fast-track ruling on #Trump’s claim of immunity
#SpecialCounsel#JackSmith had asked the justices to short-circuit the normal appellate process & quickly settle the question of presidential #criminal#immunity, which the #SupremeCourt previously has not been called upon to resolve.
The #SupremeCourt on Friday said it will NOT fast-track consideration of Donald #Trump’s claim that he has #immunity from prosecution for actions he took as #president, a question crucial to whether he can be put on #trial for plotting to overturn the results of the #2020election. #SCOTUS’s one-sentence order, from which there were no noted dissents, means a federal appeals court in DC will be the first to review a district judge’s ruling earlier this month rejecting Trump’s claim of immunity.
US District Judge Tanya S. #Chutkan, who is overseeing the #DC#criminal trial, denied #Trump’s claim of #immunity in a ruling in early December. “Whatever immunities a sitting #President may enjoy, the #UnitedStates has only one Chief Executive at a time, & that position does not confer a lifelong ‘get-out-of-jail-free’ pass,” she wrote in the 48p opinion. #SCOTUS

My letter to the editor made it into the newspaper! I didn't think it was going to but they just skipped a week. It's nothing major but it's nice to get your thoughts out there
I didn't write the title, I had no title, the editor did. It sounds weird to me.
Why #Trump’s #Legal Cases Are Irresistible for Everyone but the Biden Campaign
The former #president is in plenty of legal jeopardy. But all the court action could end up being a political distraction.
Trump is many things, and almost all of them are bad. But he is an unparalleled content provider. His New Year’s gift to the news media is the unprecedented spectacle of a former president being pursued by four prosecutors in five cases, with Trump facing 91...
As Jason Murray put it, "You’d be saying a rebel who took up arms against the government couldn’t be a county sheriff, but could be the president"

The thing is if you stay with a singular objective but ensure to employ your peripheral view, gaslighting & dis/misinfo are easier to determine. Peace is the goal in the Middle East, & every side-quest to distract everyone won’t work. People recognize that if we can’t free Palestine, everyone’s freedom is up for negotiation.
The 🍉 has become a cry for universal liberation from systems so unjust they kill tens of thousands of people, in front of us.
There is a reason that every 🇺🇸 #President has #failed to achieve #Peace in the #MiddleEast, it is only a peace that the global community of people can bestow by breaking the chains around the necks of Palestinians, and depriving Israel of more chains to tie them up again. #PeoplePower

Bundestagspräsidentin Bärbel Bas (SPD) wird Bundesdatenschutzbeauftragten Ulrich Kelber bitten, die Geschäfte vorerst weiterzuführen. Die Wahl kommt zu spät.
"All I can say is there’s some indication of maybe some compromise with #China particularly, but I have no #evidence of it. I’m going to just follow the facts where they are. And the facts haven’t taken me to that point where I can say that the #president is guilty of anything.” ~Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA)
Grassley admits there's no evidence that #PresidentBiden is guilty of anything, and yet he and his party are moving forward with a sham impeachment inquiry.🤦♂️

Today in Labor History December 6, 1810: Miguel Hidalgo decreed an end to slavery in Mexico. However, slavery continued in parts of Mexico until 1829, when Afro-Mestizo President Vicente Ramon Guerrero banned it again. Between the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs and 1829, over 200,000 enslaved Africans were brought to New Spain, as Mexico was known then. An estimated 1.3 million Mexicans today claim African ancestry. Guerrero had been one of the key strategists and military commanders in Mexico’s war of independence from Spain.
