@nyx Thanks! Yes, indeed. I love Finland, you can get to nature easily even in the city. I live in the center of Jyväskylä, downtown and there are 4 lakes and 2 ponds and at least 4 natural parks and paths around my area.
There are in total of 187,888 lakes in Finland larger than five ares (500 square metres / 5,382 sq. ft.). Most are small, but there are 309 lakes or reservoirs larger than 10 km². I always love to boast about this fact 😅
Day trip today to Soumenlinna, the inhabited sea fortress about 4 km southeast of the city center of Helsinki. Weather was perfect, and the place very interesting - a really pleasant area for walking.
Patria contemplating resuming production of the 155GH52 towed howitzer. Compared to the American M777, it is a significantly longer caliber (= longer range) and equipped with an auxiliary power unit enabling it to be moved on the field without a tow vehicle. Current users: Finland and Egypt (latter without the APU). https://defence-blog.com/patria-ready-to-restart-155mm-artillery-production/ #patria#artillery#finland#nato
The wolves were rarely seen at the moment. During the week in Finland, we were lucky one morning and were able to observe 3 animals at dusk.

In Finland I was able to observe and photograph bears in the wild for the first time. It was a special sight, especially in the snow.

From time to time, a single golden eagle came by to secure some of the carrion. This was always heralded by great commotion among the ravens, who all scampered off and took cover in the trees.

When photographing the other animals, the ravens were usually in the way and disturbed the composition of the picture. But sometimes it was also a nice change to put the supposed supporting actors in the spotlight.

It's like 11 months of winter and 1 month of sun in Finland so you know we desperately need to forget the rules and have some fun sometimes. We have so little to lose here.
