Ok, but do y'all ever make #OCD#Nachos ? Every chip is prepared on a baking sheet with equally distributed toppings.
In my case, these MUST consist of the following layers, at a minimum: tortilla chips (duh), beans, cheese. They are briefly baked in a pre-heated toaster oven (until cheese has started to melt), then broiled until the chips start to brown on the edges.
I like adding some chopped green chilis and onion, and just a stupid amount of cheeses.
@Just_Jen And the #aspie equivalent (nesting multiple such addenda (yes, Latin), because thought isn't entirely linear (though speech is (which is terribly annoying (at least to me), as is the #ocd-ish need to verify all parentheses (e.g. ")") are properly nested (and the parser sufficiently clever to handle nonsense like that above or ;-) ))))!
The cohesion in the Metality family is incomparable! We tackle things together and they turn out great.

Disabled people are treated like our bodies, our stories, are public property - especially so for those of us who are Aboriginal, who are Black, or People of Colour, who are trans or queer, or read as women.
Consider that if someone with a disability is posting their mutual aid links, either give/share/support or just move on.
Don't message us asking why we're disabled or why we're not on disability support pensions - that's nunya. NUNYA.

Doctor appt today, and he happily wrote up all the pain relief I needed prescribed for my shoulder.
I thought it might be difficult to get him to prescribe endone, panadeine forte, mobic, panadol osteo, and palexia.. but we went over how I was taking them all and he agreed that I was fine with how I was approaching it - and that taking such a variety of things meant actually taking less opioid based meds because I was able to keep on top of the pain with things like panadol osteo.
We also did my mental health plan and I hit a 40 on the K10.. which is Very Fucking High. We talked about that, and about how therapy is helping and that a big part of the 40 score is probably actually pain related as well.
He agreed that I showed great insight into my illness and that I was comfortable with being vulnerable enough to ask for help, so I get to skip hospitalisation (fucking yay!) because I have a good support system and I know how to access acute assistance if needed.
But still, 40 was even higher than I was expecting tbh. I'm usually around a 25-27.
Why are we called crazy or #OCD for not wanting to be sick? I already have compunding disabilities and really don't want to have new ones just before my life is finally starting to make sense.
Just one week off from work from sickness would be bad enough, but even chance of #LongCovid should scare people shitless.
If I get the one that comes with fatique and PEM?
My working life is over. I already have very little life in that regard already.
Medical professionals should never call #covid19 "a flu" to a patient who is masked in their presence. They should also not call the anxiety, which comes from worldwide #Pandemic and living among people whonwillfully spread it by not masking at minimum while sick, #OCD.
OCD is a lot more complex issue, which needs to be determined by a psychologist through several visits - not a quick questionnaire about depression and anxiety.
And - the patient may just not want to become sicker. #MaskUp
Wearing a mask in large groups/indoors/when in close contact with people, washing/desinfecting your hands, cleaning your groceries, and taking a shower when you get home are not OCD symptoms when there is a real pandemic raging out there, vaccines are impossible to get, and I have literally seen people sneeze into vegetables and fruit -some men even scratching their asses and then wiping the residue to some kale.

I've started a new Fetlife group for disabled people. It was started after it became apparent that the other group was going to allow chasers to fetishise and objectify disabled people and that the group wasn't safe for us.
Please read and share this letter with your comrades alongside with groups, events and spaces you are part of. Many people and groups involved in radical organising have sadly surrendered to the capitalist, eugenics and ableist narrative - and thus practices - that pretends there isn't an ongoing pandemic, thus ignoring how Covid is still killing people alongside being a mass disabling event. This letter hopes to help change this and amplify voices and experiences that have sadly been marginalised and ignored, whilst giving practical advice regarding Covid safety for organising, spaces and events.
"We need to try and create the kind of events, spaces and groups that can serve as models for a future, better, world. This is what prefigurative praxis looks like. It is the work we need to do."
The #RadicalCommunalCare group who led on the above letter aims to be a network - with it currently connecting people across Europe - for disabled, chronically ill people & their partners where communal care can be discussed from an anarchistic/feminist viewpoint, but also put into practice. We have a Signal chat for exchange of information & support in the day-to-day & we aim to meet every 2-4 weeks via Signal video - with pacing - for thematic discussions (for instance: #MutualAid#AbolishTheFamily) alongside support & solidarity. It is an #AntiAbleist#AntiCapitalist#AntiFascist & #Intersectional space.
Being part of this group has had such a positive impact on me in a very short time. Despite being very introverted & also struggling with intense social anxiety - made worse by my #LongCovid & #OCD - from the first moment I got involved I have felt at ease, safe, welcome & heard. I have seen my confidence increase, my ability to advocate for myself - especially in terms of the #pandemic & my Long-Covid - improve. It's a place of solidarity & comradeship, approached from an intersectional #anarchist perspective.

But a professor of psychiatry from the University of Colorado Boulder who has been working for a decade on OCD and anxiety, says we often misperceive how the other people on the Zoom are judging us.
Hey neurodivergent friends - we've got a lot of good places to discuss across fedi and I've been thinking that we don't always have a place the share with each other across groups for specific conditions. Maybe there is and I just haven't found it yet 😅

As an outsider with several incapabilities, I can relate to not being able to do something and being outcast from society for it. That's the reason why a lot of my characters are disabled or simply can't do certain things or need to do things in a certain way that feels right to them. And I let them succeed not in spite of this or because they overcome this, but BECAUSE of them being different.

Things have to be exactly right, otherwise he gets stuck or can't speak. He needs to tap, rectify, make sure things are level. In his later years, he understands himself better, but right now, at 29, he just hates himself for it. While the people around him don't really understand what goes on, it is also one of his strengths because he notices things others don't and thinks differently.
It came to be a story about the absurdities of war, civil wars in particular, about what makes people strong or weak, about battling with #OCD and coming to terms with #neurodivergence and with #grief. I included my love for Irish folk music and history. And it has a #demisexual falling in love, so there's #romance too. I now just need to finish it...
And of course what continues to inspire it is having an engaged readership in @floofpaldi@DoctorMonkey2 and @QuokkaMocha
I am furthermore proud of how he deals with his #OCD and #neurodivergence that always gets in his way. Not only does he manage them, he also uses the special abilities they give him.
I am also proud of Lix. She really never gives up and tries to save the day, even if she doesn't always manage. I am even more proud that after years of trying to suppress all her emotions and just act cold and rational, she is able to open up, and if only a little bit.
