OK, this is great. Just found an #iOS equivalent of #MacWhisper and it’s free. Not sure if it always is, but it certainly is right now.
It’s #Accessible and works well with #VoiceOver.
Ok, I have audio destination selected in the VO rotor, but it doesn't come up when I try to use the rotor. That is just not ok. I can select a device in Control Center, but that is kind of an unwieldy process. #iOS#ScreenReader
@box464 Your "Ice Refills" #Shortcut for #iOS seems to have stopped working on my iPhone. Possibly after the update to #ios1641 though I'm pretty sure I've seen it work since then.
So I made a home screen shortcut to the @dimillian GitHub, and it fails the same way - tap it and the color changes for a moment but nothing else happens.
But both of them work properly from inside the iPhone #Shortcuts app, and both work even on the home screen on my iPad (also 16.4.1).
Stupid question, I’m sure, but is there some way to disable ”swipe up from bottom to minimize app and return to home screen” on #iOS / #iPad? My one year old son loves to swipe around in some apps to explore, but it’s pretty much impossible to stay in any app for more than a minute as he always manage to swipe up from the bottom.
Many iOS users report losing their 2FA codes after updating their Google Authenticator app. Meanwhile, Android users took to Google Play reviews to complain about the lack of end-to-end encryption.
iPhone 8 Passcode umgehen. Also direkt nach dem Booting der Passcode. Das Gerät wurde circa ein Jahr nicht benutzt, also wahrscheinlich iOS Version 10?
I'll demonstrate how to convert a single CSV file into separate, interlinked Obsidian notes on #macOS using the built-in #ShortcutsApp, #ActionsForObsidian, and developer @sindresorhus'es excellent app Actions (no relation). The example data is a Goodreads book export, and the result is a lot of nerdy fun.
My family and I have a very irritating issue with #iOS recently, where WiFi just does not work properly. It works, it's connected, and you can access things on the local network, but it won't leave the house. Android is fine, google speakers are fine, Alexa is fine. iOS, nope. You have to wait anywhere from a minute, to 5 or more minutes before it just decides 'oh I've had enough of not working, I'll work again.' If it was just one of our phones I'd ignore it but it's everyone. Even iPads.
Trying to decide something.
I have a 9th gen iPad but I almost never use it.
Have you owned an ipad and promptly gotten rid of it? Why?
Do you currently own an iPad and an iPhone, if so how much do you use your iPad? #iPhone#iPad#iOS#iPadOS#Apple#Tech#technology
This #iOS shortcut is just a cheatsheet of the three ways you can abuse the #vCard and Contact data formats to create richer menus with the #Shortcuts app:
Contact with photo (no text to the right)
Email of a contact (trade photo by right-aligned text)
Phone of a contact (serious restrictions of what can go in the subtitle)
All merit goes to @gluebyte who published detailed guides in Reddit:
Not sure if there are any spots left, but Microsoft Loop for #iOS is very accessible. I think there are a few issues that can be worked out in beta, but it is really nice, and a good replacement for #Notion
Hello world! The first public beta of Radiant for iOS is now available.
Radiant is a new Mastodon client app that aims to be fast and powerful.
There's still a lot to do before release, but if you like testing new software that may have some rough edges and missing pieces still you've come to the right place!
