I slept much later than usual this morning. Charlie finally got me to get up (for the third time) around 09:30. Ben is in the family room he barks every few seconds. I think he wants me to go in there and sit in my recliner, then life will be as it should be - he's funny that way. Oh! ... he just gave up and came into the office and curled up behind my chair. Now Charlie is here as well. They are incredibly clingy until we go for our walk, then they're just normal clingy.
I need another cup of coffee.

Hmmm ... I better post this because Charlie is all over my keyboard.

I have SiriusXM subscriptions for both our cars and when I listen to music, tune into channel 7 - The 70s. I might flip to the 60s or 80s or even the 90s from time-to-time, but the music from the 70s is the music I still enjoy most. My favorite band from the 70s is The Eagles, coming in at a close second is The Steve Miller Band.
I'd have to say that when it comes to music, I'm stuck in an era when singers and song writers had to be able to sell their wares by sound alone over the radio. I know who musicians like Taylor Swift and Beyonce are, but I couldn't tell you what it is that they sing. Except maybe Something, something to the left ...
"Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound o' your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
Take it easy 🎶
Do you remember Beatle boots? If you do, you've been around for a while. Beatle boots were black pointed ankle boots, made popular by the rock and roll group called the Beatles. I had to have a pair when I was in junior high school. In California during the 60s, junior high school was the 7th and 8th grades. A mop of hair and bangs that swept over the eyebrows was also "in," my problem was my blondish hair tended to want to stick straight out or straight down over my eyes and I developed a weird habit of constantly blowing the hair out of my eyes. It was incredibly silly, though I didn't realize it then, when I was just at the brink of coming of age.

I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet. Maybe I'm hoping it'll pass by without being noticed. Yea, I know, that won't happen, and I should get off my back side and go deal with it. It means a trip to the store and probably a trip to a jewelry shop. Hmmm ... I said a jewelry shop when I should have said "the" jewelry shop ... there's only one in town. Our anniversary is coming up as well. I mentioned that we bought a new tree, which is still in a big box, sitting in a corner in our formal dining room. Neither of us has made a move to anything with the tree.
“CALVIN:
This whole Santa Claus thing just doesn't make sense. Why all the secrecy? Why all the mystery?
If the guy exists, why doesn't he ever show himself and prove it?
And if he doesn't exist what's the meaning of all this?
HOBBES:
I dunno. Isn't this a religious holiday?
CALVIN:
Yeah, but actually, I've got the same questions about God.” - Bill Watterson
A few minutes ago, I went into the family room to get a memory stick out of my camera. I let the dogs out did something else and came back into my office and sat down. Then I realized that I didn't get the memory stick (irony?), so I got back up and went back to get the stick. I do this a lot with different things. I'll go into a room with a purpose to get something and leave without the thing I wanted. Sometimes, I will have gone back more than once for the same thing before finally successfully putting my hands on the item of interest. I suppose, this is the power of distraction.

Fall foliage of Oakleaf Hydrangea, I want to say that this is my favorite, but who am I kidding? I love all of the hydrangea species. (This one: 'Snow Queen'.)

Another set of photographs from the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill taken in 2015. I have not published these for sale as they depict a fountain that I did not build myself and fall into grey areas of copyright law.
In this abstracted watercolor painting, two oak leaves in warm orange and yellow fall colors dance in an autumn breeze that drifts and swirls through the sky.
