Le rover Curiosity a brisé une roche en roulant dessus, dévoilant des cristaux clairs et laiteux. La zone étant riche en sulfates, il est très probable que ce soit des cristaux de gypse, parmi les plus beaux que je vois depuis le début de la mission ! 1/3

Wow 300 images captured by Curiosity to build a panoramic survey at her Sol 4175 location, ten days ago. This video show them at a rate of 10/second. It took about 50 minutes for the rover to complete this scan with her left mast camera.
Le 1er avril, Curiosity a atteint le monticule Hinman Col, à gauche de l'image. Au centre du panorama, une rivière de sable remplit le lit d'une potentielle très ancienne coulée de boue serpentant dans Gediz Vallis. Le chemin du rover est bordé par des collines hautes de 100 m, Kukenán & Wilkerson.
Cela fait bientôt 11 ans 1/2 que le rover Curiosity explore le cratère Gale et gravit les pentes du Mt Sharp. Il est entré dans la vallée Gediz et nous offre ces derniers temps de superbes panoramas.
Au centre, la crête Gediz Vallis et à gauche, la colline Kukenan.

A look at a small section of Curiosity's workspace in this composite image assembled from 4 Bayer reconstructed R-MastCam frames that were assembled in MS-ICE. The images are from December 27, 2023 (sol 4049) at site 105/1108 after a short drive/climb a few sols earlier. Nous y sommes ! Le rover Curiosity fête aujourd'hui son 4000e sol, c'est-à-dire son 4000e jour martien depuis son atterrissage le 6 août 2012.
Voici un panorama réalisé avec sa caméra de navigation depuis l'endroit où il est actuellement stationné, sur les pentes du Mt Sharp.
