The blue-and-yellow macaw (Ara ararauna), also known as the blue-and-gold macaw, is a large South American parrot with a mostly blue dorsum, light yellow/orange venter, and gradient hues of green on top of its head. It is a member of the large group of neotropical parrots known as macaws.
This hare almost bumped into me. It hobbled along the path daydreaming, or whatever hares do when they hobble around, and only noticed me when it was only a few meters away. It stopped abruptly and eyed me for a second, probably wondering how I had materialized right in front of it. It quickly made up its mind and ran away the way it had come.
