I couldn't see a link of yours, however, I can pretty much concurr with #YanisVaroufakis' conclusions in his book, #Technofeudalism, though I disagree with some of his historical analysis.
The video on Palestine that got Yanis Varoufakis BANNED from Germany (Diem25 | YouTube, 2024-04-12)
🔥 An absolute must-watch🔥 (message in English with subtitles to choose btw English/German/Greek)
Description:
Yanis Varoufakis was due to give a speech at the Palestine Congress in Berlin on Friday April 12, when German police burst into the venue to disband the event 1930s style. Judge for yourselves the kind of society #Germany is becoming when its police bans the following words.
Germany bans Yanis Varoufakis from entering the country (Diem25, 2024-04-13)
———
“The German Ministry of the Interior has issued a ban against DiEM25 co-founder Yanis Varoufakis after the police shut down the Palestine Congress …”
“This entails not only a ban on entry into Germany, but even a ban on any form of online participation and activity at political events in the country…”
What the hell is happening in Germany? The brutal attack on pro-Palestinian voices (DiEM25 | YouTube, 2024-04-02)
———
“As Israel’s genocide in Gaza rages on, #Germany is leading efforts to silence criticism of Israel's actions.”
“… German politicians are trying to ban the Palestine Congress, a vital event planned for the 12-14 April in Berlin, to unite activists for a ceasefire in Gaza.”
“Our panel, including Yanis Varoufakis, and Karin De Rigo and Lucas Febraro from Berlin, investigate. “

I can only underwrite the core proposition of this video that #Gaza is all about the future not only of #Palestinians, but the great majority of people that have no say in decisions and politics that determine their living conditions.
Here we have the testing ground of technologies whose innovative potential is not inaccidentaly characterized by their "disruptive" impact on historically grown structures of socialization.
Watching postapocalyptical scenes in #Rafah where thousands of people concentrated on a tiny trip of land run around to find something to eat, to get medical help or to just evade the dangers of war you know that they are at the receiving end of those innovation dynamics that represent the remaining lifeblood of capital reproduction in times of environmental catastrophe.
While late stage #capitalism has lesser and lesser material goods to offer in exchange for wage work the commodification of life as such by extractivisim but also by objectifying human bodies is more important than ever.
Palestian lives are commodified firstly in terms of killing a population in the open view of the whole world. The sheer fact that this genocide can go on unintervented and unpunished shifts legal norms into new dimensions of annihilating people under the legalistic cover of national self-defence and anti-terrorism. This is not a paradigm shift regarding former imperialistic wars in the region but moves on on a scale with open end to the top thereby establishing a precedent for imperalistic wars that other governments can rely on.
Secondly their lives are commodified as test objects in a large-scale experiment where new technologies of #necropolitics can be explored and invented under real life conditions.
That is of significant importance for the implementation of #AI-driven methods rationalizing human needs for cheaper ways of scarcity management, extracting more work per unit and accumulating capital by the "immaterial" practices of digital or platform capitalism - #YanisVaroufakis calls it "technofeudalism" claiming that conventional capitalism has outlived itself by a value production that is based on data and informations.
So Palestinians are marked as surplus life not only expendable for the functioning of Israel's HighTech capitalism but written off as negative factor in terms of business location logics. What happens to them is already happening to many people in the Global South being rejected as refugees by the bloody borders of the "First World" and will be performed on the masses that have to flee #climate catastrophe and hunger by soil degeneration in the future.
Imo anticipating the vectors of techno-administrative logics is a good argument for social movements that clarify for everyone to understand that your subjugation is the purpose of the exemplary unleashing of executive state power witnessed in #Palestine where social war is as real as it gets.
Not since Vietnam, no. But that's only true to the degree that the rulers of a "democracy" have to contend with truly independent media. Which is why we've been in a decades-long struggle between the media independence enabled by new tech (TV, VHS, the net and the web, etc), and the oligarchs determined to take control of every "democracy".
"But there is a bigger picture and already we can see a rise in authoritarian government around the world. An acceptance of the pre-Enlightenment ‘strong man’ style of leadership ruling unilaterally and by inalienable right and answering to no electorate."
Amazon and the big tech companies (apple, google, MS, etc.) are literally changing our system of capitalism into something far worse. I made a video talking about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42Yh6kCgork
The shift comes when companies stop chasing the traditional profit motive and start seeking rent for everything... let me know what you think. #amazon#jeffbezos#apple#yanisvaroufakis
The thing is, any feed or search result is "algorithmic." "Just show me the things posted by people I follow in reverse-chronological order" is an algorithm. "Just show me products that have this SKU" is an algorithm. "Alphabetical sort" is an algorithm. "Random sort" is an algorithm.

The cloud is especially prone to rent-seeking, as #YanisVaroufakis writes in his new Technofeudalism, where he explains how "#cloudalists" have found ways to lock productive enterprises into using cloud-based resources from which ever-increasing rents can be extracted:
'Hands Off Arundhati Roy!': Progressive Voices Decry Possible Prosecution of Indian Author
"You have no idea what you will unleash is you pursue this political prosecution aimed at silencing your most eloquent critic," Canadian author Naomi Klein warned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The second decade of the 21st century is truly a bounteous time. My backyard has produced a bumper crop of an invasive species of mosquito that is genuinely innovative: rather than confining itself to biting in the dusk and dawn golden hours, these stinging clouds of flying vampires bite at every hour that God sends:
What's the difference between feudalism and capitalism? According to #YanisVaroufakis, it comes down to whether we value #rents (income you get from owning things) over #profits (income you get from doing things):
