This one was actually finished a while back, but has been waiting on my shelf waiting for me to do some final detailing on it.
But I've decided to call this one done as it is. It actually looks pretty good and that makes room to make a few more like it to help fill out the table.
I took yesterday as a mental health day. Sent the toddler to daycare then spent the rest of the day making happy little trees, ordering cheap Chinese takeout for lunch, and binge watching #StarTrekProdigy. This is about 12 hours worth of work to get to this point. Finishing the basing and painting should take 2 to 3 hours. Not sure how long the foliage will take. I also need to figure out where I'm gonna store them...
Work continues on the forest. I've finished adding the sand to the bases, and coating them with mod podge. I've painted the trees with a chocolate brown, and then roughly added some green onto them.
Next steps will be to go over it with a light brown then a final highlight of antique white. After that I'll decide if it needs another dark wash and final highlight.
I picked up '5 Parsecs: Bug Hunt' the other day (after someone recommended it to me on discord)... so I might give it a try tomorrow.
Pictured here is a test layout using a couple of magnetic white/blackboards* to make it look as though it's on two different levels (i.e. the one at the back is just sitting on top of an empty box :) ).
(*I think I need to get another magnetic blackboard though - as everything looks much cooler on a black background)
Sometimes you just wanna slap some paint on some terrain.
And since it's just terrain, you can be a little sloppy and no one cares!! #terrain #NewEden #wip
More #terrain. I don't know why I held off on painting these, given how quickly they've been coming along. They're not going to win any awards, but for game use, they're perfect.
Gotta say though, trying to get smooth even colors on modern/sci-fi vehicles that aren't rust buckets is hard. Harder on 3d printed vehicles... really made me want an airbrush. #Stargrave
