Re-listening to that 'Music Of Cosmos' collection must have spurred on a realization that, hey, I ought to actually start checking out some of those #70s#Synth wizards included. And what better place to begin that with a record aptly titled 'Kosmos'? #ElectronicMusic#ModernClassical#Ambient
Go with Metaphysical Shitposting if you like to float on waves of noisy ambient drone spiked with occasional #experimental#ModularSynth#soundscape freakout ; stick with Psychedelic Ghost Stories if you prefer a little more structure to your wizard #synth anthems and weed accompaniment.
This morning I glanced at a list of albums Brooklyn Vegan posted about for 2024 records so far this year, and there's a new FOUR TET record from March I feel like I would've missed had I not seen it there-- I hadn't heard about it.
Four Tet is of course Kieran Hebden from London and is some wild, weird and beautiful electronic stuff. There's some great synth and ambient sounds (and beats!) on this one.
'Three' will most likely be among my favorite albums of 2024.
GARY NUMAN
The Pleasure Principle
1979 Canada pressing
Once I finished listening to the John Foxx record, I had to put this on.
Gary & John are two artists that are forever entwined for me.
The Pleasure Principle is one of the greatest albums of all time, regardless of genre or era, and NO I did not stutter.
Without Gary (and John as well), it’s hard to imagine a world that has Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, or Depeche Mode.
Just a legendary artist. #vinyl#vinylrecords#synth#newwave#synthpop
Ayyyy #GearSquad let’s talk about amplifier speakers today. What’s the best speaker you’ve heard or used? Size? What amp was it paired with? Tell us why it changed your sonic life. #guitar#bass#synth
There's a couple of Kyma Pacamara Ristetto on eBay at the moment. One side of me says I should get one and review it. A larger side of me says you already know it's just going to be MaxMSP for fancy people.
You are probably asking what the fuck is a Kyma Pacamara Ristetto and does it come with pumpkins spice? And that's a good question. #synth
I found this amazing #synthwave (and adjacent genres) artist, #Caspro. You can purchase their entire bandcamp discography for like 10 bucks (22 releases, mostly full length albums!). Total ear candy. Easiest music purchase I've ever made in my life. Since most of this music is instrumental, I'll be jamming this while coding for the foreseeable future.
Gary Numan released Telekon, my favorite of his records, in 1980. It was the first vinyl I bought as a teen in the 90s. Hearing this intro track and the album that followed was mindblowing. Definitely listen to this whole record if you get a chance.
Here's "This Wreckage", the first song on Telekon, one of the best album opening tracks EVER:
🎹 So I am in a #Cyberpunk kind of mood 😅 here is a preview of my piece of music, it's not finished yet!! I would love to know your thoughts/feedback!! 😊💜
