Great week down under in #Sydney for work. Took a few days to explore whilst getting over jet lag. Great weather for getting out and about despite winter approaching. Wonderful place but 23 hours in the air is getting to be a bit too much for me! 🇦🇺🦘🌞

"City and state should join forces to give Sydney the public square it deserves " - Sydney Morning Herald
SMH editorial comes out in favour of a town Square for Sydney’s CBD.
> Central Sydney has many great things going for it – the harbour, Hyde Park, the new-look George Street and fresh energy – but what it still lacks is a proper meeting place; a public square.
Here's the latest variant picture for New South Wales.
XBB.1.9.* "Hyperion" (34%) has now clearly taken over dominance from XBB.1.5.* "Kraken" (24%).
XBB.1.16.* "Arcturus" (20%) has been growing strongly, and looks poise to challenge next. Watch for conjunctivitis symptoms, particularly associated with this variant.
The vigorous mix of very different variants poses a raised immediate re-infection risk for anyone relying on natural immunity from a recent infection.
The sample volumes seem representative up to April 26.
And now, because (checks notes) nearly nobody asked for it, another one of my "walking through a big city" videos. But this one is different. Because this one is at a (mostly) stupid angle. #Sydney#Tourism#ASMR
It is bloody ridiculous that Australia's premier city has a 48,000 seat cricket stadium & a 45,000 seat, brand new, football stadium located right next to each other just a short tram ride away from the CBD, and they're only allowed to host 4 concerts a year between them.
To be honest, I didn't know they had this limit. I live close enough to hear concerts at the SCG or SFS quite clearly when the wind is blowing in the right direction (I especially enjoyed listening to Robbie Williams in 2006 & U2 a few years later), and yet I've often wondered why I've heard so few concerts over the years. Now I know:
"Four-concert per year limit cap blamed for stopping Sydney hosting artists such as Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel and Beyoncé." #Sydney#entertainment#SFS#SCG
