Does anyone know if it is possible to build a #shortcuts that grabs the timestamp (or timestamp URL) from @overcastfm? I assumed that “current episode info” might do the trick, but all I get back is “unimplemented”
I don’t know why it took me so long to realize this, but the #Shortcuts app on #iOS is an absolute banger! I’m currently using it to automate a few tasks from some web apps I use and I’m in love with it.
I like my shortcuts app organized and color coded. My request is the ability to add default colors for shortcut folders. So when l add a shortcut to a folder it automatically gets that color. #shortcuts#feedback#iOS
Struggling to make #meditation a daily #habit? Zenitizer can give you that extra nudge with daily reminders 😉
You can set notifications at a fixed schedule or automate them with Smart Reminders in #Shortcuts (e.g. after waking up, disabling Work Focus or when arriving at your favorite meditation spot) 🤓
iOS 17.1 brings some brand new Shortcuts bugs, including a bug with legibility blur in the set wallpaper action, and earlier I had to reboot as a Shortcut froze in the background making it impossible to run any other shortcuts.
Not to mention the usual unhelpful sporadic error messages.
And performance of the app itself is still dreadful. Windows 95 was more stable.
Even when they're not trying to collect rent or surveil me, every new release and every new app just fills me with the dread of "please don't make me learn something new".
I don't have a problem with #keyboard#shortcuts; I use some, not a ton. And I remember DeluxePaint well - helped me sell a lot of #Amigas, even if I couldn't afford a copy for my own.
What I object to is the absolutely #bizarre#UI decisions that lead to #confused, #frustrated users and horrible #UX. Like my "just loaded an image, but can't select anything!" example.
I wonder how many people try #Gnu#IMP for the first time, hit that, and #quit it forever?
#Challenge: Put your #mouse behind your monitor for an hour and use these #MacOS#Keyboard#Shortcuts instead, Be more #productive.
You'll likely be very surprised how much you can get done with just a keyboard.
Does anyone know if it is possible to define #shortcuts in the #gnome#gnomeshell so that one can directly control 10 #workspaces with Super+1, Super+2 all the way up to Super+9 and Super+0? On my #manjaro system the Settings app only offers to customize shortcuts for workspaces 1 to 4. #gnome44#wayland#linux
One feature that has been missing from my favorite todo app, @things, has been the ability to automatically move tasks to the “Evening” section when they appear on the “Today” page. With the power of #shortcuts, we can fix this! #Things3
I released version 2.9 of @PleaseDontRain , which adds support for a second shortcut called "Find Rain".
It will show statistics for the next hour on your selected day where precipitation is predicted. If you have a morning event but it's only going to rain at night then knowing there's a 60% chance of rain for the day isn't necessarily helpful. This shortcut can give you a better idea of what's ahead.
@macrumors Yes, it’s definitely a problem. I’ve seen it a few times on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, but last night was the worst - iPhone appeared to shutdown for 5+ hours between midnight and 6am causing all of my overnight #shortcuts#automations to fail to run 🤬#Apple really needs to fix this! #shutdownGate
I just realized that with iOS 17, we now have the ability to control the stopwatch with Shortcuts! This is something I’ve wanted for a long time and even asked @matthewcassinelli how to do because I figured that I had to be missing something when I couldn’t figure out how to do it.
I released version 2.7 of @PleaseDontRain today, which adds Shortcuts support and two new themes drawn by my sister. No way I wasn't going to have a Halloween theme in October. 🎃
I just realized that my Shortcuts phrases are not being put into my Xcode 15 String Catalog automatically for translation. Did I do something incorrectly or is this an omission?
I’ve found that when setting up contextual Shortcuts, they quickly become cluttered with nested if statements, and they’re slow.
In the evenings, I’ve been working on an app called Contexts. It makes it incredibly easy to build conditional shortcuts based on location, time of day, day of week, and more.
Contexts can determine what actions to run (or a choice of action) when pressing the action button, or you can use the “is context active” shortcut action to do anything conditionally.
Right now, you can set one shortcut per Context, but in the coming nights, I’ll enable assigning multiple shortcuts based on context.
Regarding the pre-calculations, maybe it’s because I already have done all the ones I can imagine (I store their status in Data Jar for each device) but it’s hard to imagine something that significantly slows down a #shortcuts menu (and I’m kind of obsessed with performance 😅).
