There are animals back in the field behind the house for first time this year. There are 15 tups of different breeds, some Swaledale, North Country Cheviot and Beltex (I think). Which is probably Ruben's entire flock of tups, enough to cover hundreds of ewes. They certainly provided extra entertainment for Bramble the cat. #Cat#SheepOfMastodon
The dug has been presented with a new toy by a visitor who has been running with us this weekend, one that bears a strong likeness to a character from that well known, hard hitting political and social satire, ‘Shaun the Sheep’.
All too predictably it is now known by all (and he can distinguish by name and type most of his balls, frisbees, ropes etc..), wait for it,
Wonderful and VERY WET day at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival yesterday. So very wet! Came home with one Romney fleece and enough Cotswald and silk roving to make a sweater.
I love this festival - it's such of mix of people, but honestly I was surprised to see nuns! Also lots of men in kilts (accompanied by a discouraging number of long, yellowish gray beards braided with beads on the end).
