Je regarde For All Mankind et c'est un régal. C'est beau, bien écrit, dystopique et ça se passe en grosse partie dans l'espace.

I'm looking for TV series, aired probably mid-1990's (in Poland it was aired around 1997 or 1998).

There was a guy trying to solve some mystery (or mysteries?), perhaps working alone. I recall a single episode where he noticed that while holding a certain mysterious object near him, objects behaved unexpectedly, e.g. Coriolis effect was reversed (working in opposite direction). I think he was trying to contact a person from his past, maybe a brother or father.

Each episode ended (and probably started) with a music theme involving tubular bells.

It is definitely not "Nowhere Man" with Bruce Greenwood, nor "The Pretender" with Michael T. Weiss.

I'm studying IMDb's TV series list from 1990's but it's a very long list... I'll be very happy if anybody gives me a hint or some title to try!

Please boost!

I've been away from the platform for a while because I felt overwhelmed, though I'm not even sure by what. It was just a period filled with events, and I couldn't handle it, I guess. I've been away from not just the platform, but many things that matter to me: chats with friends I care about, online projects—everything felt utterly beyond my reach. I could only focus on surviving. This evening, I'm feeling different and I hope to remain in this state for the months ahead.

These days I'm rewatching the only tech comedy I've ever enjoyed

Love me some international intrigue! 😉

Finished True Detective season 4. Overall I enjoyed the dark and moody atmosphere and the performances, particularly by Jodie Foster, Kali Reis and Finn Bennett, but I thought the momentum caved in (pun intended, for those who've seen it 😉) at the end. The revelations in the final episodes felt rushed and unnecessarily far-fetched.

I was more impressed by The Terror season 1:

A chaque fois que tu fais tourner la photo de Margaret Hamilton devant sa pile de code, la science devient moins sexiste et tu obtiens automatiquement ton statut d'homme-féministe. 🥰

Finished The Terror season 1. A grim, gripping series, with impressive art direction and wardrobes, convincing performances, and Ridley Scott as an executive producer. Recommended.

I haven't seen The Terror season 2 (yet) though. It's a separate story, and I noticed that it has received lower ratings. But I enjoyed season 1.

I've tried so hard to like For All Mankind. I loved that it is a character-driven story, with the sci-fi sort of in the background, but yo, it has very long boring scenes that revolve around these characters I just don't care about. Like who in their right mind would root for a guy like Gordo? And why is most of Season 2 dedicated to him? I gave up in S02 E05.

But it's a good series, otherwise. If you can stomach the long dreary scenes, you'll enjoy it.

I’ve been watching Star Trek: The Next Generation after asking @mardelvallearts for a recommendation.

Never watched Star Trek before and it’s such a treat: from the super random sensuality to the intense gazes, it is so imaginative and… I don’t know. Cool. It is cool.

It’s become a refuge for my mind plagued with disheartening thoughts about climate collapse, shitty capitalism, and egomaniacal billionaires.

Give it a try if you are into sci-fi 🌌
