Finished the first book on my - Station Eternity by @MurHerself

It's a cozy (well, up to a point) murder set on an alien space. Cool setting, fun characters, and a great payoff at novel's end.

After 3 hours, after 5 time crashes of Unreal Engine - I did it. Chaos Flesh wheel... my video card said - let's finish this quickly, because I can't take it out anymore. As far as I understand, it is not need in the game, but to create a trailer to show the rover - yes!

Flying a drone over this mess... I won't show you the drone itself, because now it's just a sphere. I haven't thought about the design yet. The drone will have a lot of mechanics, I hope... Now there is only movement gameplay and flashlight 🤖😘

I am currently engrossed in reading the Expanse book series. In the universe of these books, humanity's advanced space-faring civilization still grapples with familiar issues like geopolitical tension, inequality, and exploitation.

The arrival of a mysterious new technology ignites intense reactions from governments, individuals, and political ideologies.

In these books, I see many parallels to how people currently interact with AI.

I occasionally see articles and toots about being arseholes and generally behaving badly.

So, as an antidote to that, I'd like to tell you a story about @clacksee being an excellent human being.

A while ago, she sent a message to her mailing list offering a large discount off any of her books when bought direct. I decided to use it to buy a couple of her books to use as prizes at the tombola that will be running at our local in June.

If you like "#SciFi without the pew-pew" or cosy London noir, I can heartily recommend her books.

I've read all five of the books in the photo, plus some others (mostly shorts that are only available as ebooks). They're all very good.

Still working my way through Three-Body, the Chinese TV adaptation of The Three-Body Problem. Sometimes it gets slow but it is so much better than the Netflix version. Especially if you read the book(s). #scifi

This week on , the weekly monster movie watch party, we've got STRANGER FROM VENUS (1954)! It's apparently so similar to The Day the Earth Stood Still that it wasn't released in the US until years later for fear of legal action. Fun!

The flick's not available on Archive.org, but it's on Tubi and the Extremely Easy To Download From, Wink Wink YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASAPL92HuhU

We start at 9pm eastern on Sundays! Hope to see you there :D

I just found out season 2 of Outer Range is available!! I absolutely loved season 1, it was such a unique story (sci-fi western!). I guess I'll sign up for Prime for a month to watch it. Anything else new and good on prime right now?
