Add in puzzle elements, really smart level design, and chef’s kiss animation, and you’ve an 8-bit classic. Cracking on the breadbin, but I always rated the SMS version too.
The purple Game Boy Color was my first ever game system, followed by the purple #GBA and then the blue SP. The original DMG needs some repairs and replacement parts, it was a garage sale pickup years ago.
I use the #SteamDeck a lot nowadays, but I still try to make time for the #retro#handhelds. The mini #emulation handhelds can be a nice change of pace as well! Do you still like old school handhelds? Let me know!
New toy! The Super Pocket, Taito edition. I’ll be reviewing this (and its Capcom sibling) for Stuff. First impressions are good. The built-in games hit the right spots. For 50 quid or 60 American dollarinos, this should fly off the shelves this winter.

This week's acquisition. I'm a prolific collector of controllers, but it's rare that I actually want a game console to go with them - this is the second one I've ever bought, and the first was a second-hand MegaDrive in the 90s.
This is the EverCade Atomic Edition, and it's the only way to play the re-make of Duke Nukem 1. I won't have time to properly get into the game for a couple of weeks, but I am going to open it up and check out those gamepads, because of course I am. #retrogaming

When I was a young Commodore-era game developer, C (without the ++ or # back then) was for wimps, and hardcore coders used Assembly, ditching the OS to have maximum available hardware resources. 👴
The #GameCube has been such a fun console to explore. I didn't have it when it was current, but now it has pride of place in the #RetroGaming nook... Also, let's face it, it's the ultimate system for classic #ResidentEvil.

If I had to choose a favorite arcade game soundtrack from the 1980s, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment. It would be "Magical Sound Shower" from Sega's classic 1986 Out Run driving game.
