windows just deprecated windows mixed reality. thousands of headsets are going to become bricked. open source drivers (monado) do not fully support WMR. they are still selling WMR headsets like the Reverb G2. there is no refund policy. the only way to use WMR is to never upgrade your windows install. fuck microsoft.
Apple's recent trend of dropping* #Xcode support with each macOS update is developer-hostile. There are all kinds of reasons folks need to use older versions of Xcode, and it really ticks me off that Apple has decided they will actively block doing that.
Yet it still works if you launch the binary directly from inside the bundle. Whyyyyyy
I think I will follow my usual routine of only upgrading macOS when the latest stable Xcode version requires it. I’ll see you on Sonoma sometime next Spring!
That being said I can understand several people that would be able and willing to pay $500 p.a. if Apple were to charge that for #macOS on 3rd party devices because it's a good OS...

I can understand when manufacturers want to #EoL a #device (tho espechally on #ChromeOS / #Chromebooks the excuse of "too old hardware" rarely flies), the fact that these are literally turned into #eWaste due to not being unlockable and thus refurbishable (just like any other laptop) is basically an asshole move against both owners (that would otherwise get some $ from refurbishers) and the envoirment!
