This weekend was Doors Open in Toronto where places you don't normally have access are open and have tours. We went to the east end gas plant where they generate a lot of power for the City, and a very interesting tour of a record store.
At the gas plant, I asked the only non-technical question -- about whether any movies had scenes shot there. Yes! Many! In fact, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be there in about a week.
The #record store, Dine Alone Records, was way more interesting than I thought. I had no idea they had a recording studio upstairs, a stage for bands, make record labels, a lovely rooftop deck for special events (complete with sauna) and so much more at the site. Iter & West: Nuclear Fusion Gaining Momentum at Cadarache
Nuclear fusion is advancing rapidly, including within France. On one hand, the CEA’s WEST reactor has completed its experimental campaign by setting a new record. On the other hand, the final poloidal field coil for ITER has been delivered.
This is a terrific jangle-pop record - ‘Fairweather Friend’, released in January this year by The Umbrellas on Tough Love Records. This is the Trolley Blue limited edition - 88/300 representing!

Sandhill Cranes return to the North Platte River Valley in #Nebraska
Starting now and running through mid-April, approximately one million #SandhillCranes will spend about six weeks in the Platte River Valley on their way north to Canada and Siberia. 400,000 of these Sandhill #Cranes will spend that time in the North Platte and Lincoln County area in western Nebraska.
Another #record week! On Feb. 24, we estimated 122,700 + 9,100 Sandhill Cranes btwn Chapman and Overton, NE. A large majority of these cranes were roosting btwn Hwy 34 and Wood River, with only a few thousand spread out throughout the remaining river valley. On ave, this time of year (“week 2”) we see about 27,000 cranes.

Since I have to #exercise some more #patience until I can make music again, I decided to take the #fieldrecorder with me daily and #record interesting #sounds on a regular basis. This way I will have a nice little library of fresh #samples at hand when I will finally be able to start with #musicproduction again. 😇️
