I wanted to create this space to establish a small oasis of positivity. Everywhere you look these days, you see nervousness, impatience, intolerance, and often unwarranted cruelty. Hate and negativity seem to be the release valves for people's frustrations. But hurting others doesn't improve our own condition. So here, I want to smile and share smiles, positivity.
Reading the posts from the people I follow, I'm seeing beautiful places, amazing animals, and a general sense of well-being. I used to be a part of some larger instances, but their timelines were always filled with hatred or controversy. Large instances are like big apartment buildings: you have a lot of people around, but you can't choose your neighbors (too much). Here, I have my little home. Modest, but I can choose friends and neighbors. And that means a lot to me.
What do owners do for their lonely and bored parrots, which are social animals? Give them tech to video call other parrots, of course.
Parrots were taught how to make video calls to other parrots. During free call time over a period of two months, they "came alive". Some showed each other their toys. Some developed best friends.
Switching my alarm to play a favourite track from Spotify has been such a positive experience. It helps me start the day in a good place! #Alarm#Positivity

It's always nice when you can have long, really good conversations with someone. Just talking about random things and making the best of the conversation in general.
This is how the #Fediverse should be at all times. We need more of this type of positivity around this place, especially after all the stuff that happened last week!
