New at my Patreon... Walking through Fremantle, I admired a statue of the late Bon Scott of the rock band AC/DC. But where exactly was his Highway to Hell?
Perth is having a really bad summer. Yesterday it was over 40 degrees and around 40,000 people were told to stay indoors and turn their air conditioners off because of a fire emitting sulphur dioxide fumes. In the south of Perth a bushfire came up to people's back fences but fortunately property damage seems to have been prevented. #Perth
Derelict platform at Claremont Station on the Fremantle line in Perth. All trains now leave from the island platform in the middle. The new airport line starts here too, so I've just transferred from a Freo train to wait for an airport train.
I know this station well, as I used it when I was at boarding school nearby in the 1970s-80s.

Usman Khawaja to 'fight' cricket authorities' decision on Gaza message
Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja says he will "fight" the decision to bar him from making an on-field statement in support of Palestinians. The batter had planned to wear shoes bearing the words "all lives are equal" and "freedom is a human right" at a Test match with Pakistan. The International Cricket Council did not allow this as it considered the statements "political", Khawaja said.
