Denny Laine, co-founder of bands Wings and The Moody Blues and longtime collaborator of Paul McCartney, died on Tuesday morning, according to Laines wife Elizabeth Hines. He was 79.
Gotta admit, I'm psyched to hear the 50th anniversary Band on the Run stuff in February, (remastered at half speed?!?) and then the 'underdubbed' mixes. Wild
George Harrison released the celebrated album ‘All Things Must Pass’ on this day in 1970.
“Now the darkness only stays the night time
In the morning it will fade away
Daylight is good at arriving at the right time
It's not always gonna be this grey”
This book by legendary street photographer and occasional musician, Paul McCartney, is magnificent. Included are photos from The Beatles’ first trip to the US. I opened it for the first time to see these shots from Miami. So cool to see Paul’s images of a place I know so well (and such a relatable aesthetic sense). Here’s a sample

This video review of The Beatles’ “Now and Then” is really good. I like how he says of McCartney: “his greatest gift as Lennon’s writing partner is to take a sad song and make it better.” chef’s kiss

PAUL McCARTNEY On Playing "Live And Let Die" Live - "Oh, Sh*t, We’re Gonna Kill Her"
Sir Paul McCartney was petrified he was going to “kill” an elderly person with his "Live And Let Die" performance... The Beatles legend introduced flames and pyrotechnics to his live shows...
This new (last) #Beatles song '#NowAndThen' is really quite good. And it's totally amazing how they grabbed #JohnLennon's vocal from an old #Cassette#Tape. The band really did get back together one last time.

It was complete carnage... Keith and Ronnie were on their feet. The roof left the building: Andrew Watt gifted Paul McCartney a 64 Hfner with a built-in Univox Super Fuzz circuit and the Beatle used it on the new Rolling Stones album
Once McCartney released the full potential of his new Hfner, his eyes widened, and he just started ripping on it
Part of the SF Masterworks Collection. Despite being nearly 60 years old the narrative around the manipulation of the truth feels incredibly prescient. Wondering whether David Whitaker had read it before he came up with #DoctorWho story The Enemy of the World. #Books#Bookstodon#SciFi#PhilipKDick
The McCartney Legacy Volume 1: 1969-73 by Allan Kozinn & Adrian Sinclair
Absolutely loved this. I’m a huge McCartney fan and not only did I enjoy reading about his early post-Beatles career in minute detail, but it was also great to revisit those early solo and Wings records with the added context the book offers. Heartily recommend to any other fans and I look forward to future volumes.
