Another Week - Another new image for #pinetabv (and #star64) - Kernel Version Bumps, Package Bumps in this release. Also, last actual release for PtV for a while, as now the images can be upgraded via "apt upgrade" online.
Major Changes for PtV include sound (enable it in settings), a updated kernel version 5.15.127 with the latest Starfive Vendor patches, improved EMMC performance, and a few thousand additional packages available via apt!
For those using my plasma images for #PineTabV - new images have just been uploaded fixing charger and power issues, touchpad and a few other things. Grab the latest image here: https://pine64.my-ho.st:8443/pinetabv/ (GitHub has more details on the changes) #pine64#riscv
some people had it running, but many packages are not compatible yet and i think there is no official binary cache, so you have to build everything yourself or use a community binary cache
Hey @PINE64 and other #Pine64 community folks and fans, does anyone know if I can get the PineTab with a keyboard, so I can use it like a netbook with a touchscreen?
I ordered a PineTime smart watch from Pine64 on June 24 and it got hung up in customs three days later. I've been writing to sales@(pine) and haven't had a reply. Do any of you fine people have the email address of an actual person at Pine you could share with me, please? Thank you!
Already added the fediverse Friends plugin and stuff, looking at Forums. If I could somehow self host a discord like chat that has communication with normal discord, I'd be gold. Then YouTube is basically my only walked garden
For the videos: cross posting them to a PeerTube instance (and/or a different commercial platform) might help lower the dependency on a single external corporation-owned point of failure.
Early gift to myself. The @PINE64 Pinecil: a smart portable soldering iron with a RISC-V SOC. It runs on a community-built firmware and can be powered via a barrel plug or USB-C (PD or QC 3.0) w/ an LCD screen that shows info and other menus. An essential tool in any DIYer/maker's EDC.
If you have a parent, significant other, or friend who's into #electronics, #DIY#repair, soldering, etc., this would make an awesome gift. 😁
First impression of my #Pinebuds Pro. Fine for listening to music, unacceptable for the #SteamDeck. There is a noticeable amount of delay in the audio. I'm not sure if it's the codec it uses or what, but sometimes there's a noticeably long delay between actions on screen and audio in my ears.

The RISC-V powered Pinetab-V seems to be progressing very well....
Ubuntu Touch on Pinetab 2 (video) (tube.tchncs.de)
The video serves mostly as an introduction to Ubuntu Touch, but also shows it running relatively well on a Pinetab 2. Via @RTP
I'd love to be able to charge the pinetime with the pinebuds case.
I think it would be very convenient for the small extra cost...
