The US and Israeli governments have reacted with fury to announcements by three European governments, at the same time, that they are recognising Palestinian statehood. Ireland, Norway and Spain have all now formally declared Palestine to be a state.

To be fair, South of the border, no one cares about #ScottishIndependence or a united #Ireland. I think most people wish both would happen so we don't have to hear about it any longer.
It's the ruling class unionists who still hanker for the colonial empire, & keeping Scotland & North Ireland under English rule. It's never been a major issue for the average person in England, hence why I think most would support the #Irish & the #Scots if given the chance.
It's the unfortunate reality. People generally deal with what's in front of them & what affects them. #Scotland & North #Ireland doesn't affect the average person in England.
What you have to unravel is why the ruling classes are so desperate to subjugate Scotland in particular.
North Ireland is a different matter. The feeling is that Westminster wouldn't mind a united Ireland, as long as they keep face & it doesn't look like they've bowed to IRA pressure.
