If you have a job where you sit in an office and type stuff on a computer keyboard, like the one you have at home...

Why are you required to drive to their computer rather than remain home and use your computer?

The same job is being done, isn't it?

You're already there.

The Computer is connected to the same network.

Why put another vehicle on the road for nothing?

In the days of typewriters, perhaps there was a need,
But times have changed, Just stay home.

If there's one thing I hope happens from the implosion of Twitter, it's for journalists to stop referring to Twitter as the "Internet".

Something tells me they won't -- even though Twitter becomes less relevant as each day goes by.

JPK_elmediat,

@atomicpoet Like the people who experience the #Fediverse through #Mastodon as the sum total of the Fediverse, the journalists see the #Internet & #SocialMedia through their experience on #Twitter.

🆕 blog! “The new .zip TLD is going to cause some problems”

Many years ago, Google applied for the .zip Top Level Domain. ICAAN, in its infinite wisdom, granted it. And now, I think, bad things are going to happen. You see computers try to be helpful. They see you wrote "visit example.com" and autolink the thing which looks like a domain name. That's handy - especi…

Seems like a good day for a reminder of how quick studios are to screw over writers. In 1999, NBC moved a series from their regular network to Sci Fi Channel. My pay went from $240,000 to $0. Because my contract paid "per broadcast episode" instead of just "per episode."

The series ran. I just got nothing.
