This is soooo sad! Dr Michael Mosley was an amazing thinker whose documentary on fasting I rewatched regularly. I loved his health series and podcasts.
I just want to say that if you do go for a hike, especially at a new place, please tell people where you are going and if possible don't go alone.
All (or almost all) my gear for what I’ve decided to call Bastian's Big Backpacking Voyage 2024 (#BaBiBaVo2024), six weeks (or so) of #hiking and #backpacking in the south of France. A total of 11kg, not counting food and water, which is about 2-3kg more than I’d like, so now comes the fun part of trying to whittle off any excess weight (like that giant roll of duck tape). With a limited budget I had to make some compromises, though, so I might not be able to reduce it as much as I’d like.
Trail work for a change. Noticed some "missing teeth" on bridges we biked yesterday so did my best to patch them up. Also cleaned up downed trees and widow makers. Details in the Alt. #hiking#biking#trailWork
That mossy “seat” in the upper left might be one of the best views in these woods. I’m not quite limber, or confident enough, to get up there, but I do enjoy the thought of it. 😅

#Bloomscrolling from sunset #hiking at Dog Mountain a few days ago. The hills are alive with the sound of balsam root jumping around! Mainly because it was pretty windy! Also around were paintbrush here and there, lots of cow-parsnip(?) and occasional chocolate lily! Seems like the lupines are finished for the season.
