Can anyone recommend #opensource#data for historic #climate records in the UK?
I need daily precipitation & wind speed records for a #gis project in #Lancashire for the last 10 years

GeoPandas has released an alpha of v1.0.0 - time to check it works with your code.
Details at https://martinfleischmann.net/geopandas-1.0-is-coming.-what-will-change/, changes include switching default loader from fiona to pyogrio (nice! I often forget to use pyogrio and it'll save me time), requiring Shapely 2.0, removing built-in datasets, and deprecating some stuff.
Auf der Plattform Georeferencer stehen 1479 digitalisierte Kartenblätter aus dem historischen Bestand der #ethbibliothek bereit zur #georeferenzierung :
On examination, this is apparently the Rosebud Indian Reservation, which has been shattered into a million different pieces. There's got to be some history to that. (I suspect, probably some trickery/abuse on the part of the US related to supression of Native Americans, but I may be wrong) https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/9869788#map=14/43.4802/-100.5684#gis#mapping#SouthDakota
Aha, yes... "One hundred years ago homesteaders began buying land that was formerly part of American Indian reservations.. The Rosebud Reservation was opened in 1904 after many years of negotiations with the federal government.... Many tribal members never saw the money, but lost the land....The Lakota were left with a disaster, a checker-boarded reservation and land issues that still plague them today. Most reservations in South Dakota were opened to homesteading, all are checker-boarded within the boundaries with land owned by non-Indians, tribal members, the tribes and much lease and fee land."
It appears my #PostGIS Tiger geocoder isn't working well. Points aren't even being geocoded to the same street. I've even used the address standardizer function before passing them into the geocoder but it doesn't help. The address standardizer output looks great, too!
Here is a video I made showing how to use the web map GISsurfer (I am dev) to split your screen and ‘surf’ data on any ArcGIS server with a public table of contents.
Drill down to a layer on the left side of the screen, click the layer and that data appears on the map on the right side of your screen. You might need to zoom in/out since some data only appears at certain zoom levels.
The video also shows how to make a GISsurfer link to automatically display the layers you have turned on.
