This pool is a locally popular spot for fishing, swimming, and picnicking. The fallen tree served as a support for a tire swing and a rope for jumping into the pool 😊
The recent heavy rain caused some changes in the creek landscape, including this bank erosion, causing the tree to fall into water. Yesterday, I was standing at the bank about 300 meters upstream of this pool - the bank collapsed and I got into water 😅
Gulph Creek, PA
A tributary of the Schuylkill River
Checking some creeks before picking up my son at a soccer camp 😊
This stream runs through suburban woodland. I am sure this had trout a long time ago before development 🤔
The water is too warm to support trout, but looks beautiful, worth spending time walking along the creek while fly fishing – I need to find an area with public access 😉
My sea trout trip to the Archipelago Sea looks a bit sketchy at the moment with orange level wind warnings for north storm, > 21 m/s.
It’s better to save the tent and go another time. I’ve been out in Iceland in severe gale with the MSR Hubba Hubba NX but it was risky to push it that much.
Some health issues, including a few days in the hospital have kept me off the water so far this year. Very frustrating. I'm going to get ou there soon.
I’m told a lot of bug spray was used on this reporting trip. And one iPhone had a near-death experience.

The great blue herons have figured out where the trout are stocked. They line up with the anglers to catch fish, but they do not practice catch and release.
I love this small waterfall, about 5-foot tall. When the temperature is high, I see people bathing here 😊
So, first come, first served 😉
Last Thursday, I lost to several teenagers on a warm day, but I was the only one on Saturday because it was pretty cold 😊
Arriving at a local creek this evening, I discovered that I forgot fishing lines and also premade fishing rigs 😭 So, I just decided to take a walk in the woods 😊 I didn’t forget fishing waders, so, I had no problem walking such trails 😉 BTW, this is a designated trail, which I usually avoid because it very muddy and wet 😊
I did not see anybody on trails, but I saw some people fishing this creek during rain yesterday. I guess it was recently stocked with trout 🤔 Fishing was not my primary focus - I came here for walking in the woods although I had a fly rod with me 😉
I got a lot of refusals at a different lake last night, but they were ready to roll at Stone Mountain tonight. I've been trying out a sort of heavy deer hair bug. Fishing with a Tenkara, I am holding the fly on the surface of the water. The "too long" hook allows me to give it a lot of motion on the surface.
The bass are still busy spawning and sitting on their nests, but I was able to land one last night. My hollow deceiver looks skinny out of the water, but it has volume under water where the fibers aren't under tension.
I'm headed to Indiana. If the weather cooperates, I will have a nice fishing week. Will hit Turkey Run Park outside of Louisville either tomorrow evening or Sunday morning. On Monday, I hope to go to Turkey Run State Park in western Indiana. Yes they have the same name; it's a coincidence. I'll work in Indiana all week where I will have access to the White River. I don't yet have a plan for the following weekend. I'm taking a tent, so Daniel Boone National Forest will be on the table. If I am impressed by Turkey Run State Park, I may go back there. If you've got some opinions about theae areas and fishing, I would love to hear them.
