I have had a new laptop for a day, and it's shit-hot!
Clearly aimed at gamers but the best spec I could find for development.
I went #Lenovo#Legion9 (max), rather than #Dell for the first time because the spec, and the fact my last Dell is faulty after 6 years (whereas my previous 15yr Dell is still perfect).
Lenovo support is poor, outsourced, unhelpful and knows less than I do.
Windows 11 was the only option, so no Ubuntu drivers. But ok, except the trackpad so far, USB devices on order.

The #Windows11 setup yesterday shows me everything I've heard and abhorred about #Windows lately. Even after configuring for #privacy#Edge was sending all my clicks home and making this shit-hot laptop sluggish!

So, I'm doing some quick performance tests for my own JS game engine, and it turns out that the WebView used by Tauri is 40% slower than Edge itself.
A bit surprising but I guess Tauri adds some overhead, as the release build is also faster than the dev build - without doing any explicit call to the rust backend during the benchmark.
Oh, and, BTW, does anyone know what the crash dump logs browsers generate are actually used for? None of the teams involved in helping me troubleshoot my crashes seemed to be interested in them nor did they seem to have any idea what they would do with them. #crash#Chrome#Edge#Google#Microsoft

Salut les ludiques ! Il y a quelques semaines, je cherchais les aides de jeu pour le jeu de rôle #NightWitches. J'avais fini par les trouver dans une bibliothèque Mega. #Edge a mis à jour son site et les a ajoutées (c'est sans doute indépendant, bien que j'aie aussi posé la question sur leur #Discord semi-officiel).
