CEOs & mgt of Meta: FB & IG, X, Snapchat, Google: YouTube... get paid handsomely to harm our children. They don't care how they endanger kids bc they're sociopathic anarcho-capitalists. Regulation is needed now.
SM cos. made >$11B in US ad rev. from minors last year. Researchers say the findings show a need for govt reg. of SM since the cos. that stand to make$ from children who use their platforms have failed to meaningfully self-regulate.
Backstory: The Insufferable Bros Who Run Corporate America: A quiet merger trial between antitrust enforcers and a pharma data giant called IQVIA reveals how bro-style executives control your medical data."

The truth has been revealed. Musk & his enablers hid safety flaws at Tesla. Will Musk change his corrupt M.O.? He may be forced to modify his business practices:
Markey & Blumenthal call on Tesla to recall all vehicle components that pose known safety risks.
Recent reporting reveals Tesla is well aware of existing safety flaws with suspension & steering control parts but blames them on consumers & conceals them from US regulators.
Comcrap, a.k.a. #Xfinity is a real PITA for their customers, who they screw regularly. All #CableCompanies suck, but Xfinity is in a category of their own.
More corporate collusion & price gouging revealed:
$40.6M in restitutions on the way to Washingtonians from chicken, tuna price-fixing lawsuit. WA AG: recovered $35.5M from resolutions with 15 of 19 broiler chicken producers named in a 2021 price-fixing lawsuit. The 19 producers account for about 95% of the broiler chickens sold in the US -used for everything from chicken breasts sold at grocery stores to chicken nuggets &sandwiches at ff restaurants.
Enabling tax evasion is expensive. Since banks continue to do it, the fines should be higher:
A major Swiss bank admits it conspired with US taxpayers & others to hide >$5.6B from the IRS.
Banque Pictet has agreed to pay about $122.9M in restitution & penalties.
If the bank complies with the terms of its deal, the DOJ will defer prosecution for three years and then dismiss a charge of criminal conspiracy to defraud the IRS.
Will they commit the crime of price gouging (in this case, by colluding to limit the supply) again, or have they learned their lesson?: A federal jury in Illinois ordered $17.7M in damages — an amount tripled to more than $53M under federal law — to several food manufacturing companies who had sued major egg producers over a conspiracy to limit the egg supply in the US. #CorporateGreedhttps://www.cbsnews.com/news/egg-suppliers-ordered-to-pay-17-7-million/
This is why I still buy Blu-rays when I actually want to buy a show or movie. Maybe enough people will get mad enough we'll see some legislation put in place to ensure certain rights for digital purchases
"It’s my understanding that I had over 80 million streams on [#Spotify this year,” #WeirdAlYankovic said in his video. “So, if I’m doing the math right that means I earned $12. Enough to get myself a nice #sandwich at a restaurant.”
He added, “So from the bottom of my heart, thanks for your support and thanks for the sandwich.”]
Workers have gained leverage because of Pres Biden & his admin's efforts:
The UAW union is launching simultaneous, public organizing campaigns at more than a dozen automakers incl. Toyota, Volkswagen & Tesla, an effort to capitalize on recent contract victories & reverse labor’s decades-long decline in the sector.
It's aiming to organize nearly 150K at 13 companies, which would double the number of autoworkers in the union.
